Raina Stelling (District 10)

Raina Stelling is a very tall, skinny girl for her age, standing at about 5'7", but she has stopped growing. She isn't the prettiest girl, but she isn't ugly, she's just fairly cute. Raina has frizzy, long, dark brown, curly hair and large, sea green eyes. Her eyes always look pained, and her face has the look of someone pretending to be happy while trying to hide something from the world. Since Raina lives in such a poor District, she doesn't have the energy to exercise, and, therefore, is very scrawny.

Raina has really long fingers and the prettiest singing voice you have ever heard. Raina almost always wear her hair down, but occasionally she'll wear it up in a ponytail or bun. Raina looks exactly like her mother, except for her eyes, which match her father's perfectly. Raina has very plump lips, but crooked teeth that are dull-white in color. Her eyebrows are like fuzzy little black caterpillars on her face.

Raina is pretty social and actually enjoys talking to almost everybody. Even though she can make loads of friends, she likes to have one or two very close friends that she can share her deepest darkest secrets with. She looks for friends who are loyal and trustworthy. She also tries to find people who can make her laugh or smile. Raina steers clear of the people who are always yelling, or those who seem rather shifty.

Raina is a very trustworthy girl. She is also kind-hearted and can't stand seeing people around her suffer. Unfortunately, since she lives in a very poor district, she is forced to watch people she knows and loves die from starvation or diseases. Raina is an exceptional singer, as mentioned before. She also has a talent with animals. She can get virtually any animal she comes across to trust her. She loves the animals, thoroughly enjoying their company and trying to help them out as much as she can. She also enjoys dancing and drawing, though she isn't a very good artist.

She actually enjoys being dressed up for the reaping each year. She loves the chance to wear a dress because she looks very pretty in a dress. Even though she is rather girlie, she doesn't mind getting sweaty and dirty in the field. The only thing she really dislikes is when there's humidity in the air; it makes her hair even more of a frizz-bomb than usual.

Raina is hardly ever sad... on the outside. She tries to walk around with a smile on her face so everyone around her can have something happy or joyful in his or her life. Though on the inside, she is haunted with the same questions from her past. But none the less, she acts joyful and bubbly.

Raina once had a mother and father. But when she was a baby, they tried to escape from District 10. They took Raina with them. Her parents got through the forest bordering District 10 and made a run for District 11 forests, but somehow the Capitol caught on. They sent a hovercraft and Raina's father was captured, as well as her mother. They were somewhat merciful, however, and they dropped Raina back off in District 10 since she was a mere infant.

Since then, Raina hasn't had her parents to raise her. She was three years old when her parents were taken from her. Thankfully, her 18-year-old sister stayed behind when she was told her parents were leaving for District 13. Raina's sister, Melody, and her 21-year-old husband, Erin, have cared for her ever since their parents were taken by the Capitol.

After that, Raina had to really struggle and pull her own weight by helping Erin with his large flock of sheep. Many questions always swarmed her brain. Were her parents alive? Where were they in the Capitol? Were they Avoxes, or are they dead? If they are dead, in what cruel ways did the capitol torture them?
