Ainsley Jameson (D12)

Ainsley is only 5 feet tall. She is the smallest in her family of 5. She is very thin, but she likes to call herself petite. Her hair is black, and cascades down her back. She takes pride in her hair and likes to make it look nice, even though it often gets messy. Ainsley’s face seems heart shaped and parts of her hair curl around it. Ainsley has scars that cover her body, nobody really knows where they came from. One of the most visible scars she has is on the left side of her cheek. It covers her left eye and finishes near her mouth.

The most appealing thing about Ainsley is said to be her eyes. They are bright green and in certain paths of light, look like they are glowing. Ainsley likes to make her eyes stand out by using a thin layer of eyeliner, which is made for her specially by her younger sister, Esther. Ainsley has very little clothing. Her favorite is a pair of black jeans and a plain purple shirt. She wears this on special occasions only. For everyday things she’s wears a plain black shorts with a plain back shirt. She is often teased by her siblings about wearing black, but she likes to think that it brings out the color of her eyes even more.

Ainsley is a kind hearted person. She’s kind to everybody but she can have a very bad temper if you aggravate her, which does take some time as she is very tolerant to most things. Ainsley loves her siblings, and would do anything for them. She enjoys spending time with them, as they all play big and important parts in her life. The thing that spikes Ainsley’s temper the most is anything harming her siblings. Even though her elder brother can care for himself, she feels the need to protect him, as much as she does her younger siblings.

Ainsley cannot stand overly arrogant people. She especially hates the capitol, as she feels as though the districts should be treated with more respect, not just toys in their little life's. Other then spending time with her siblings, Ainsley loves to spend time in the towns square. She also enjoys playing with knifes, but thats a secret only her brother knows of. Ainsley is patient, and enjoys helping her mother, who nurses and heals the sick. She isn’t a lazy person, but she doesn't work too hard like her mother does. Her political beliefs are that the districts should not be run by the capitol. She believes that everyone should be treated fairly.

Even though Ainsley doesn’t believe in the ways of the capitol, she does enjoy training, as if she would enter the games. Her chance is thin, but she will be glad to pass what she knows of the games to her siblings, in case one day they are called for the reaping and she wont be able to take their place. Ainsley knows that if she was ever called upon to take part in the games her best way of surviving would be with her knifes. She doesn't like the meaning of the games but she knows that rebellion would result in death. For Ainsley, the games are just another way of life. Its something you just have to put up with, even if you don’t agree with the morals.

History: Being from D12, life isn’t and wont be very wealthy or well off for Ainsley and her family. Ever since she was young, Ainsley has helped to look after the sick, and tend to the injured. Her childhood was pretty much the same as everybody else who lives in D12. Ainsley loves school, even though the main thing they learn about is mining and coal. Ainsley grew up without a father, because when her brother was only 2, the peacekeepers took him away. Everyone says he would have been murdered brutally. Ainsley is very much like her mother, in ways that she acts and with the shape of her face she looks a lot like her mother. Ainsley is close with all of her family members as she loves family and believes that family is important in survival.
The most significant moment in her past is the day her mother was threatened by the peacekeepers. They beat her mother, until she lay nearly dying on the floor. Her brother came home and the peacekeepers left. Ainsley remembers distinctly the screams of her mother and the blood splattered on the walls. The memories turn to nightmares when she sleeps. Ainsley helped heal her mother, but her mother couldn't work for a while after that, leaving the family hungry until she recovered enough to work.

With only being 15, Ainsley still has trouble finding work to help support the family. Her elder brother works at a bar in the districts centre. Ainsley sometimes works as a waitress to help with living. She enjoys working at the bar, and talking to all the other citizens. When Ainsley first started at the bar, she witnessed the peacekeepers murdering a man who had committed a crime that no one knew of. Ainsley was worried to go back, but she went back to work and began to enjoy it. Now she goes in often to help out with everything.
