Alexia Beckett District 12

Alexia is very tall for her age. She's skinny, due to the fact that she is starving most of the time, because she lives in the Seam in District 12. She isn't tan, she's actually kind of pale, or fair skinned. She has wavy chocolate brown hair that goes down to a little above her shoulders, and trademark gray eyes from the Seam. She has a little bit of freckles underneath her eyes, full pink lips that are chapped when she's starving, high cheekbones, and a slightly upturned nose. She often has that hollow look on her face, the look of someone who is starving.
Alexia's family is definetely not rich, so new clothes are hard to come by in her family. On normal days, she wears a plain navy blue t-shirt, black pants, and oversised hiking boots that don't fit her well. During winter she wears one of her brother's old leather jackets that are also too big for her, but keeps her warm in the cold. On reaping days, Alexia wears a black and white checkered dress that once belonged to her mother when her mother was her age, and plain black shoes. Normally Alexia's hair is up in a bun, ponytail, or braid, but during reapings she leaves it long. Every day, she wears a metal ring that used to belong to her brother, that is a plain band made of a cheap copper-y metal, but has 'coal miner' engraved on the top in fancy looking script.

Alexia is not exactly the friendliest person in Panem. She's clearly very shy and withdrawn. Due to the death of her brother, she really doesn't talk much to anyone except her mother and father. She keeps to herself. On the positive side, she's kind to people who are kind to her. She isn't the kind of person to have an attitude and snap randomly at someone just because she's constantly not talking to people. Also on the positive side, she has a rather funny, sarcastic sense of humor.
On the downside, she's extremely shy and doesn't get along with many other people her age in her district. She keeps to herself at school. She has some people she says hi to sometimes, but besides that, nothing. Also, Alexia sometimes suffers depression from her brother's death, which is a definite flaw in her personality. One definite fatal flaw she has is that she trusts people too much that gets close to her. She probably won't notice if that person is lying. This could result in her getting knifed in the back or something from overtrusting a 'close friend or family member'.
Some of her strengths is her agility. She's a very fast runner and sprinter, and can run long distances for a long time as well. She's very good at climbing ropes and jumping high. She's very shrewd and clever. When faced with a problem, she finds the most clever way to solve it. This could be a good strength for her if she were ever to be thrown into the arena. She's very clever, and very good at sprinting. But besides that, some weaknesses are her hunger. She doesn't have much knowledge about plants and such, although she has some common sense about poisioned berries and things like that. Another strength, though, is her broad knowledge from school, how she learned so much about mining and the process of coal mining. You never know when that type of education could come in handy sometime.

Alexia grew up with her mom, dad, and older brother in a ratty home in the Seam, in district 12. Growing up, she lived a pretty normal life, except for having to deal with intense hunger at times. Her father is a coal miner for their district, and her mother works at the Hob. Her older brother, Oxford, died in a mining accident when he was only 20 years old. Alexia was only 13 at the time, and she was devastated. So was the rest of her family. He was such a good natured person. Her father didn't die in that accident because he escaped. He was slightly lucky, but now he keeps blaming himself for his eldest son's death even though it wasn't his fault.

Alexia doesn't really have a career, she goes to school full time. When she's not at school, she sometimes joins her mother to the Hob. She learns the art of selling things at the Hob. Alexia also occupies herself by picking up edible flowers and plants inside her district for her family to eat. She tries her hardest to not be hungry, although that in itself is an extremely difficult task.

So far, Alexia has survived all the reapings. But she still has many more reapings to go. Though, she signs up for tesserae often to keep her family with food and oil. Alexia hopes to one day work in the coal mines, because she really wants to help her family out with the money situation. She just can't wait to start supporting her family. But she's stuck in school. In school, Alexia is rather smart, but she doesn't really enjoy schooling. She mostly pays attention during history. So far, Alexia has been struggling to survive most of her life. But that's normal for most people in the Seam.
