```Shayde Lee Truedhart , , ,
I am frozen.
I am frigid.
I am burning.
I am blazing.
I am disappearing.
I am degenerating.
I am suffering.
I am surviving.
I am myself.
I am Shayde Lee Truedhart.
I am frigid.
I am burning.
I am blazing.
I am disappearing.
I am degenerating.
I am suffering.
I am surviving.
I am myself.
I am Shayde Lee Truedhart.
It was slow going. Shayde knew they were lucky to have made it to the woods and away from the frozen waterfall. Damaris was trying her best with her injuries, and Shayde thought that she had gotten better in the past day. He knew that she may feel better, having gotten used to the pain, but she wasn't actually better. Healing with just cloth wrapped around your wounds wasn't exactly possible. Shayde had found himself thanking the cold though. The chance for infection in the wounds was much, much slimmer in this weather than it was in humid place. But it had grown so much colder through the night and he was beginning to worry. What if he froze to death? It was so cold in the Arena and only getting colder. And windier. Wind made it so much worse.
He hadn't slept all last night. Sure, he hadn't seen any other tributes besides his ally in the past day, but his mind had still been swimming with thoughts of each one. Especially the new dead girl. Dysis Admea. She had been the only face in the sky that night. Who had ended her life? Sawyer? Charas? Midas? Sundra? For all he knew it could have been a mutt! But why was he worried about her? He sure as heck never talked to her and all he really knew was that she was from District 7. So why did he care? Because it could've been another face? Damaris could've been up there. I could've been up there ... Everytime he woke up last night, he made sure Damaris was still there. Still alive.
Now came another question: Why did he care for her so much? Damaris was his ally, yes, but all tributes have allies and only one tribute ends up alive in the end. So obviously other tributes didn't quite think of their allies the same way he was thinking of Damaris. Was he looking at her as a friend? Caring about her that much because she was his only friend? He wondered if that could be it. Sperring had been his friend and he cared so much about him and had even cried over his death. He was like his brother. A new-found brother in arms. But Damaris as a sister ... No, it was a different feeling. Something else was waking him up in the night. No ...
He let the thought leave his head. That wasn't it. Hopefully. His attention turned back to their location. It was woods and there was plenty of places to get wood for a fire, but that would have to wait. Shayde was feeling lazy. No need to get up yet, there would be plenty of time to eat and drink later. But he was yearning for the warmth of a fire ... Okay, time to get to work. He picked up his hammer and began to walk through the wooded area, looking for some dry wood. It wasn't all that hard to find, but he had other ideas in mind too. A spear would sure help out his attacks a little ... At least, it would be much better than his hammer. Friggin' Queen of No Damage Bruising ...
He found himself at peace with himself. It was quiet this morning. It calmed him. Then he stopped. It was quiet, calm, and perfect. Too quiet, too calm, too perfect. He ran back to where Damaris and he had made camp before he could get any supplies at all. This is what had happened the last time ... Peace and then Hell. "Damaris, we gotta go. Now."
