"Okay, I'll be here tomorrow," Mara exclaimed. I nodded, and watched her leave, her pack slung over her shoulder. As she was walking out, I realized how attractive she was. Snap out of it, Pheonix. Don't get involved with girls like that. I stood up from my chair, and quietly left the shop.
I walked into my house, my mother greeted me. This usually meant that she wanted me to do work. "What task now?" I groaned. My mother snickered at my reaction to the greeting, and dragged me to the kitchen. Sitting there, was the cutest thing I've ever seen. A Golden Retriever puppy. I ran up to the puppy, and kneeled down to pet the puppy. The puppy climbed up on top of me and started licking me. "How... How did you...?" My mother smiled and said, "One of our cows were sick. I sold it, and the owner is taking care of it. In return, I decided to buy this little guy to make up for selling the cow." I did one of my infamous weak grins. "I don't give a care about a cow, he's great!" The puppy continued to lick my face like crazy. "Bandit, how do you like that name?" Bandit answered by licking me even more. I picked him up, and stood up. I carried Bandit up to the newborn puppies, and Bandit reacted by sniffing the puppies.
Wait until Mara see's Bandit! "Pheonix, can you go milk the goats and cows?" My mother asked me. I carried Bandit over to the barn, and he sniffed around, recognizing the smells of the different animals. I got my stool, and milked the cows with my bucket. Bandit followed me around, watching me milk the cows. He even tried to lick the milk. I put the buckets into one of the jugs, for the cow's milk. Now onto the goats... Bandit followed me to the goats pen and continued to watch me as I milked the goats. Then, he went away to play with one of the kids. Once I was done, I did the same thing I did with the cows by emptying the bucket into a jug for the goat's milk.
I took Bandit inside, and he started playing with the little puppies. I started to scratch Laura, one of our sheep dog. She was going under so much stress. She looked up at me, and attempted to lick my hand. I scratched her head one last time, before deciding I should go to bed. I flopped down on my bed, moments later, Bandit was whining beside my bed to come up. I carefully picked him up, and he made a spot beside me, and fell asleep. I soon fell asleep, too.
