Ellea Banks
It was a rather chilly morning in District 5, as Ellea Banks stood outside while the sun began to rise in the east. Although warmly bundled up in a furry coat, the teenage girl couldn't help but shiver as the breeze blew across her pale face. A sign was held firmly by her dainty, small right hand, with "Save the Birds" painted across the wood in a black paint. An environmental conservation club at school that Ellea was a part of had rallied their members and other volunteers to protest against the plans of drilling oil in the area that an endangered species of birds had made their home.
Ellea had been pleased with the plans to stand up for the creatures. There was something about the protection of animals that touched the young girl's heart. Since the industry of her district changed from ranching to oil rigs, Ellea had felt that something was missing from the place that she had called home. She felt as though this was a foreign area, a mysterious place she had never encountered. It was almost as if it was not her home anymore.
Brown eyes scanned the busy square for any individual of whom looked like they might have had an interest in their cause. Ellea had found so such person, so her chants grew louder. "Spread the word, save the birds! Spread the word, save the birds!" Much to her dismay, this hadn't brought any more attention to the group. Not willing to give up, Ellea continued the protest with much more effort, straining to be heard over the loud community area. Ellea wanted nothing more than to restore the district she once had, and she would take any opportunity to get her home back.
