Corissa Mae
Corrissa was once again awake earlier than usual, but not for the reason most would expect. It wasn't to go to the training center even though today was when all of the Careers got together and fought each other. Her trainer, Sam, was expecting her to win the whole thing, for he believe her great knife-throwing talent was better than anything else. She obviously didn't believe it would do much, but of course her opinion never counted. Instead, she was getting ready to go meet the boy she had met the previous day. He was far from who she would normally be seen spending time with, but their was something peculiar that pulled her towards him.
Corissa could hear her formal parents talking to het trainer who was waiting downstairs for her. Little did they know that she was not going to go downstairs. Instead, she was going to climb out her window to get to where she desired: the town center. A smile highlighted her expression as she stared at herself in the mirror, her brown eyes glinting with happiness and excitement. Her clothing consisted of just a simple cotton dress (blue, of course) with a pair of brown sandals. The neck of the dress was v-shaped, though it didn't go down that much. No need to show what she didn't have.
With one last look, Corissa quietly stepped to her window, sliding it open with one quick movement. She straddled the window with a few laughs escaping her, until she swung her right leg over and was stanging on the neatly-cut lawn. There was a peculiar gleam in her brown eyes, a glint that consisted of a fiery excitement. Never before had she disrespected her parents and trainer in such a way as simply sneaking away. The thought sent shivers down her straight spine, though it was a good feeling. It was good to be rebellious every once and a while... right?
With one last glance back at the house, Corissa set off at a quick run down the street, careful not to step in view of her large and fancy house. Her red curls blew out behind her as she ran, the warm wind whipping against her face and causing her cheeks to flush a light-pink color. Her steps were quiet against the pavement despite how her sandals slapped against the road. People stared at her as she ran, confused expressions staring at her back as she passed.
Laughs escaped her as she stopped, surprisingly not out of breath from the long run. Traning actually paid off sometimes. With a quick swipe of her hand, she kncoked the red strands of hair out of her face and let her eyes fall upon the large crowd before her. She took a deep breath and stepped into the crowd, immediatly regretting it as people knocked into her as they set off on the things they needed to get done. Colors flashed before her eyes as the many people walked by, the clothes they wore already beginning to bother her. Anger and frustration set in as she focued on the peculiar things people decided to wear. It was a common thing with the teenager, one that made her want to scream ut in annoyance.
Corissa slowly began to take calming and relaxing breaths, forcing herself to look for Seger. Her gaze swiped over the crowd, looking for any sign of his tall figure. She nervously clamped her two hands together as she wandered to the very center of the crowd, knowing that sooner or later he wuld come into view... Hopefully. "He'll come, just calm down" she whispered to herself, the statement reasurring even though she was the one to say it. With the relief came excitement and eagerness as she waited, forgetting about the immense trouble she would be in with her parents and trainer. She was a new person today, and witht hat new person came no worries.
