Sometimes, Janice doesn't know what she's look for in life, what she wants in life. What she doesn't want it life, and what she doesn't need in life. To her, life seemed so... stupid. But, her existence was life. No, she wasn't all depressed, but she wasn't please about how her life turned out, up-staged by her younger sister, getting wasted every-other night, simply, she's a molded problem child. And her life is pretty much some mystery to her parents. There's that word again, life. Life, life, life. Sadly, the word would never disappear, and never get old. Janice knew that she should appreciate it, and she does sometimes. Actually, the two things she doesn't like about life is her parents and school. Besides that pair of unrelated-yet-still-related things, there's a huge list of things she enjoys - friends, partying, fashion, all that stuff.
Then again, those things did make up her life.
She had one of those up-town modern-capitolite lives. The type of life where you were unknown to some people, yet the world to another. Janice didn't really stick out in the capitol, which was good. Didn't her sister get enough? Having another Garnet sister in the spot-light would look desperate. Janice was always jealous of Septima, even if people did spread rumors as nasty as ear-wax around about her. Her parents never really payed the slightest attention to Janice, when Septima got a makeover every-other week. Janice wished she called the shots sometimes.
Control yourself.
Take only what you need from it.
A family of trees wanting,
To be haunted.
Take only what you need from it.
A family of trees wanting,
To be haunted.
Sometimes, Janice realized kids had no freedom, well, legal freedom. They couldn't drink, couldn't drive, couldn't smoke, couldn't do shit at certain ages, which was sort of rude. Sometimes, kids were more responsible than adults... sometimes. Also, even young-adults didn't have much of a say in political manners. Janice surely wasn't the only teen who was aspiring to have freedom. Unless that was her mind telling her that she isn't alone, which happened a lot.
Sometimes, Janice likes to think that somewhere, the same exact thing is happening to someone else. That some girl has a sister and the parents only pay attention to the sister, not the girl. Sometimes, though, Janice knows it's all just her stupid mind telling her that she's okay, that she'll make it through just like some other girl in the world did.
What did Janice have a say in? School elections, she could plays sports or something - but she's too clumsy - she could cook, but those weren't fun activities. There was always this one activity, but it seemed frivolous to do everynight. But hey, Janice was bored, she was young, she was a kid! A party was the one thing that would cure Janice's lonesome, torturous, boredom. Out of the ten-or-so people she called, she got about eight "no's", and two "yeses". Even if it was two people, it was still a party.

Nope, Janice didn't care if it was only two people who accepted the last-minute invite. One of those people was Blake, who was nice, there for everybody. The other person was Gaius, Gaius Longinus. And even though Janice had a boyfriend, Gaius was so much hunkier than him. Anyways Janice got all the needed things ready, food, booze, snacks, normal drinks. She didn't over-do it, but she didn't have to sneak around. Her parents were out and so was her sister. She was home-alone, but that was a temporary thing.
Janice sat alone for a while, until the door-bell rang. She walked up to the door, not knowing who it was.
She was standing in front of Blake.
The water is warm,
but its sending me shivers.
A baby is born,
crying out for attention.
Memories fade,
like looking through a fogged mirror
Decisions to decisions are made and not fought
But I thought,
this wouldn't hurt a lot.
I guess not.
