Appearance
Sometimes one has to step back and just admire the true beauty of something or someone. Though beauty is subjective, almost every single person in the Capitol finds Vail attractive (well, at least most men do.) Her tall, curvaceous body tends to do that to men, yet she has no eyes for them, only women.
There really are many striking features of Vail, but her exceptionally long legs may by the most striking of all. She stands just an inch under six feet, and most of that is due to her long legs. Of course, she always had the possibility of being a model, she always was pretty enough for it. Vail just had no interest in the cruel world of fashion, she was quite content with just being herself and living off of her fathers money. Also, though she would not like to admit it, Vail has terrible posture, taking a good inch or two off what appears to be her height, a big no-no in the fashion industry. This could easily be changed with surgery, but Vail believes that there are too many risks with that option.
She always has been extremely thin, but she must watch what she eats due to a not so quick metabolism. The constant struggle between hunger and Vail are not easy at all, but she manages well enough to survive at a mere 130 pounds. In truth, that is far too little for somebody of her size, but by the standards of the Capitol, that is just about right.
Her hair is of the wavy type, curls of blonde that flow down slightly below her shoulders. During her free time and time around May (The character who is unnamed that she is supposed to be in love with) is spent with it down, free like her soul to do as it pleases, whether staying put or traveling in the wind. During important events that she gets invited to, her hair takes a much more formal, held back shape. Buns are the most common for fancy events for this girl, though other, more extreme hairstyles may be picked out every once in a while.
Though tan, her skins natural color is a rather pale cream. Over the years she has grown as close to permanently tan as one could. During the summer she lays out on her balcony with May, doing one thing and one thing only, getting tan. She thinks it improves her looks, and it is hard for anyone to argue against that claim. To add on top of that, she has the faintest cluster of freckles covering her nose and the area surrounding it. The freckles add a sense of youth to this mature, yet extremely young girls looks.
Eyes are windows to the soul, they tell a million stories. Vail has eyes of a pale green, emerald like almost. They are beautiful just like her perfect white smile, yet different in so many ways. Vail lets no emotions hold back, showing all of them even when it is unwise, most of this emotion comes through her almond shaped green eyes. Whether angry, happy, depressed, excited, tears for whatever reason, she seems to tell these things with her eyes.
One of the funnier qualities of Vail is her simple opinion on clothes, the less, the better. She just does not like wearing stuff, which is why in the summer she wears nothing more than a bikini and the occasional shorts around. Though ridiculous, she still does it, and nobody seems to question it. After all, isn't ridiculous the norm in the Capitol?
Personality
Overall, Vail is extremely positive and outgoing. She is a glass-half full person who is never unwilling to share her opinion. Most of the time this opinion will help, as Vail is no stupid girl, but every once in a while she will say something that she did not mean and it will get her in a world of trouble. It is just who she that causes this trouble, noting more. The fact that she is extremely talkative causes people to sometimes take what she says wrong, not her fault at all.
Being positive to an extreme makes Vail a joy to be around, who would not enjoy being around somebody who is always positive. There are times, of course, when bad things happen and Vail feels down, but she always tries to look on the bright side when those terrible things happen. She has money, she is a good person, and most importantly she is beautiful and has a beautiful girlfriend. What more could she ask for? It seemed absolutely nothing else would ever be needed by this girl.
Though outgoing and genuinely happy, it is nearly impossible to change the opinion of this girl. Her opinions are set in stone the moment they are conceived, never to be changed. One can chip away at the ideals of them sure, but it is only possible to chip diamond with other diamond, or so they say. Thus, it is nearly impossible to change a girls ideas of what in the world is going to happen and why she is so important.
Of course, this brings up the notion that Vail thinks she is one of the most important people in the world, which she does. People always told her that she was beautiful, smart, and important. She is sure that she is high up in all of those categories, so she always seems to carry herself with an attitude that says she is amazing at everything. This is not to say that she is rude to others, because she is quite nice, but over all, she is just very self confident.
It seems that Vail is very into romance, especially her relationship with May. She does not remember when they started dating, but she is sure that it was a long time ago. Even though May does not treat her perfectly, Vail can never get enough of her, always coming back for more love even when she is rejected and told to go away for whatever reason. She is persistent in getting what she wants, that is for sure, but not very persistent in her studies or anything else for that matter.
History
Like oh so many lucky people born into the Capitol, Vail was born as the youngest (and prettiest) of four girls in the Greene family. Fittingly enough, everyone in that family has green eyes. Many times did the family laugh at that irony at the dinner table, no matter how old the joke was. Whenever there was a family get together at the start of the games, somebody seemed to crack the joke. Every single time it seemed that somebody different laughed.
Her upbringing was not so different than anybody else from the most important place in Panem. She went to school, got good grades, and moved up. When she got older and starting going to parties, that was the interesting part.
Once she started kissing, something felt wrong. Vail had always assumed that she was supposed to like boys just because that was what fairy tales were like. This of course was not true. She found herself not feeling good when kissing boys, instead thinking about girls and what it would be like to kiss them. Only being around twelve, she kept this a secret within herself for the time being, as she was popular and wanted to continue looking for her perfect fairy tale.
As the feelings towards girls intensified, she started to experiment. She went for girls who she were sure were homosexual and guys in general. Everything was a test to see what she wanted so she could serve the most important person best. Eventually she found May and settled down with her after a while. She does love May, quite a bit, but the love may not be so mutual. Her parents do know about her relationship and are rather indifferent about it. As long as she is happy, they are.
