Druce
I looked at the fields below from on a hill. Well okay, I might as well tell you what I named the hill, and no it's not something stupid or ordinary like 'My Hill.'
I named it Zaynah. I found it in a book once. I had read that book on this hill and I had been so touched by the book that I had named the hill after the main character.
Zaynah isn't special but she is to me because at the top she grows different flowers that while I cant see them they all smell wonderful. I've been told that the flowers aren't that special just ordinary, and that the reason this hill wasn't used was because it wasn't worth the effort to come all the way on the outskirts of town. But that doesn't matter to me. What do looks or usefulness matter, I'm a prime example.
I closed my eyes and lifted my sunglasses off of my eyes. I lounged against a tree with my feet spread out in front of me and my loose black shirt rippling when I stretched for my bag.
I unzipped the old leather backpack and felt for the spines of the books in there. I read the braille on the spine and plucked out the one I was looking for.
I opened my eyes and before the blur of colors could overwhelm me I slipped the sunglasses back down. Now all the swirls were dulled by the dark almost overpowering color of black. I loved the colors but they were to much sometimes. Some of them were grays anyway so Black made them go completely away.
I sighed and flipped to the page with my book mark in it and started to run my right pointer finger along the page. I smirked as one of the characters fell off a cliff.
Suddenly I heard a buzzing from my wrist. I placed my bookmark back into the book and felt my wrist for my watch. I clicked back wards through my day. I had had my watch programed to ring once every hour beginning at 7:00 AM and ending at 11:00 PM. That way I would know what time it was even if no one was around. That had been my 2:00 PM bell so I could stay here for a while before heading back home. I stretched forward feeling the strain it put on them I stopped and lounged on the grass. A slight breeze blew past my head whipping my shoulder length hair into my face.
With the breeze came the noise of someone coming up Zaynah(the hill.) I turned toward the sound and waited to hear the person again.
