Grumble... Grumble, grumble... ROAR--"Oh, shut up!" I sternly yell to my empty stomach. I slouch on my horse, Enchant eye lids lowered and a look of skepticism spread across my face. I hold the reins up, wiping my face with the back of my hands. I sigh and stare up at the sky, hair falling back from my face, still slouched. Enchant looks back at me, giving my the glare I can expect came straight from horse hell. "Not you. I meant this monster of beastly wrath." I say, indicating my stomach with one hand. Enchant flicks her mane at me, and I can totally see her giving me a sarcastic paragraph if she was actually human.
"Hey." I smack her neck and Enchant bounces. "I didn't want to come out here anyways. But, if we don't then, we can't sell apples in the town and then you get sold to someone less..." I hesitate, looking for a good word to keep my horses wits about her. "Giving." I say, giving up. ...For the love of god, I'm having more of a conversation with my horse than my own father. Grumble... "AH!" I let out and I palm my face. In a whining tone I complain, "Stop reminding me... I haven't eaten in two days..." Suddenly, my horse stops.
... What? "Enchant...?" I say, looking at the forest around the path. In this stillness it seemed like every leaf of every bush, tree and plant was alive and shaking in the wind. The long grass weaving itself like waves reminded me of water. I could only imagine what the ocean looked like. Lucky Fours. Prying my mind back to Enchant, she was... sweating? Aw, now that is weird. A second before I'm jolted back wards and turned around, I see two green eyes piercing the air between them and Enchant. I freak out, gripping the reins. I'm too startled to speak out.
____________
After about an hour, we come across a small bush, raspberries growing delightfully on it. I never bothered to look before but, "Jackpot" I say, sitting on the side of the road about five minutes away from home by foot, two and half on horse, eating berries. I can't believe I never found this bush before... I tie Enchant to the tree branch and, dose off leaning on the very same tree... I feel my eyes shut, very aware of my eyelashes. I kicked off my shoes and hid them on Enchant, and now my bare feet are pointed behind me, both on one side. Before I completely lose consciousness, I hear a crunch on the road. Sounded distant. Probably a merchant or something traveling out.
