[/blockquote]

[/blockquote]Leaving District One was a big decision. It was one that took a lot of thought and a lot of time to actually decide upon. I mean, I sat in my room for a good whole ten minutes before deciding to pack up my small bag for school with a change or two of clothes, some matches, flint, a flashlight, a journal, pencil, basic first aid materials and a rope. Then, I left. I was actually proud that I had covered most of the things you need to survive. It was only when things started to get cold that I had realized I forgot my jacket. And water too while I'm discussing how much of an idiot I am. I realized that one when I felt my tongue go dry. That and the insane leg cramp that dragged me to the ground faster than I could let out a shout for help. I didn't shout though. I was smarter than that. Kind of. I think.
Although, this whole thing was kind of stupid. However, I wasn't doing this alone. Well, I had been up to this point now, but I knew I'd find her eventually. She had given information to people that lead me out here. She was out here somewhere. Somewhere in this huge country of forest. I should probably specify which girl, considering within the past few days I've been with multiple girls. It wasn't Lyla. I...well...I slept with her, yeah. But I only did that because it was the last night we'd be together and I just had so much emotions and she was there. And I hope I was beneficial for her too. But no. I wasn't out here looking for her, even thought part of me wasn't not wanting to. I was looking for Edana Lightwood, a pregnant teenager who just couldn't leave my mind alone.
I had to. Some part of me actually cared for her. Maybe not romantically. After all, I had just met her. But the baby that was in her stomach made me want to care. I wanted to be helpful in any way I could. And a pregnant teenager can't really survive in the wild as well as they much think they can. I think. I needed to find her to be there for her. To be helpful. Yeah. Helpful. I like that word. I'll leave it at that. And that's why I had packed my bag in the first place, setting out into the forest. It was near impossible to actually escape the confines of our District border. It basically involved sneaking around in the dark. That's a little hard for a guy my height. But I did it anyways. Because I needed to. I didn't want to. I had to.
And that's what caused the spiraling chaos that brought me to where I am now. First, let me just say that it is next to impossible to maneuver through a forest when you have almost no light. I think I would've had more success in a rebellion against the Capitol than venturing to find Edana Lightwood. I didn't even find her. I tripped, I walked into trees, I bruised and cut so many parts of my body that I'm surprised I'm still together but I didn't find Edana Lightwood. But I did find something. Off in the distance, there was a faint glow through the trees. I had encountered something like this once before, and although it provided substantial light to walk along, I went in the opposite direction. Light meant life and life meant bulky Peacekeepers who were not exactly nice. No tea parties would be ready for me if I had went towards it. However, this time, I did.
I don't know what changed between the middle of the night and sunrise, but I did anyways. I couldn't stop myself when I pushed the branch out of the way and walked into a large pole. A clang rang out, which I believed was from my head, but the pole seemed to vibrate slightly. Good, I didn't want to get this far and then have to stop because my head was playing songs. That would be a little interesting though. Walking forward more, I discovered a piece of fencing, which revealed everything behind it. Some sort of District was within the fence's border. And my guess was District Three, due to the large cloud of black that was pouring out of a factory. "Not very healthy for the environment."
That's when I felt my foot smash up against the wall. "For fuc-" I spat, before being interrupted by an opening of a fence door. See what I mean? Spiraling chaos. The footsteps of heavy boots echoed around me as I grabbed onto my foot and hopped around. I luckily jumped behind a bush by the time the officer arrived, looking around with a flashlight. Now was my chance. Darting out from behind the bush, I made a break for it towards the door. Break would make more sense to you if you could feel the pain in my foot. But I finally reached the opening, which I threw myself through. I could find supplies here and see if Edana passed by.
That's when it hit me. Shit. Lyla. That one name meant a lot to me. Not only was she first girl that I had sex with in a jail cell, she was also the only person I knew that lived in District Three. I believe they call what I had next a panic attack in the medical business. I was glad that I could possibly see her, don't get me wrong. That night was pretty damn remarkable. However, there was her Julian that she spoke about. And he might not be too happy about our little encounter. I was just about to turn around and leave when I heard the footsteps returning. Stuck in an unknown District with large fences, bulky Peacekeepers and thick forest around me and a beautiful one night stand who may have a boyfriend-- or girlfriend. Just peachy. Just freaking peachy.
