The one thing that everyone observes first of her appearance is her height. She is, in simple words, short. Standing at 5'4". . . if she stood on her tippy toes. Maybe this wouldn't be commented on so often had her father and mother not been of a towering stature. She doesn't mind her petite-like figure, however. Because of this figure she's able to crawl under, above, and through things that others otherwise wouldn't have fit in. Her bright red/orange hair has been dyed to a much less attention grabber brown. The kind of rich brown you see in soil, or the bark of a tree. Her eyes aren't shaded a dazzling blue color, unlike her mother and brother, but she inherited her father's eyes. A dark brown that reminds you of honey when you look into them. But, due to her short sight, she was prescribed contacts from her doctor, which she got colored into a green/gray iris. The nose planted on the center of her face resembles a button, to most. Often, those who are older than Brielle gently push it playfully while talking to her, followed by the immediate swat of her hands, and then annoyingly rubbing her the spot touched, wondering why anyone would believe it's acceptable to push one's nose.
The freckles splashed against the bridge of herbuttonnose give her an innocent and sweet aura, and even as she grew older with most of the freckles disappearing, the sweet look remained. Her skin, for the most part, is pale. After all, she hardly goes outside due to her clumsiness. Because of her lack of physical exercise, she's gained a weak and wimpy structure. On the contrary to this, she is usually energetic and often seen bouncing from room to room in her house. But, she also has a low stamina, so if she does something that requires physical strength for more than 10 minutes, her enthusiasm level drops below 0.

For a girl of her age, it's unusual to be as friendly and warm hearted as she is. Most would think that her odd manner is because she wants something from them, but they couldn't be more wrong. It's simply her nature to be kind. Her genuine smiles could melt the heart of the coldest soul. Her words are always soothing and comforting in times where comfort is needed. She likes to laugh a lot, and her brother calls them contagious, regarding that when she laughs those around her laugh as well. When put in a bad situation, she's optimistic for the future, imagining the bright and happy ending she reads in fairy tales. But, Panem is most certainly not a fairy tale, and it's endings are almost never happy. This leads to her continuous disappointments when she reaches the conclusion, but either way she still hopes for a better tomorrow.
Being optimistic, however, has it's downfalls. Gullible, naive, and easy to manipulate, Brielle falls for anything anyone tells her. Her brother swears that one day she's going to be kidnapped and held for ransom because she can't tell the good apart from the bad. Not that she can help it, she just doesn't believe in judging others before they can prove her wrong. Which is most of the time.
On account of her work ethics, it's not exactly that Brielle's lazy, but that she simply cannot be relied on. She'll be in charge of making dinner one night, and she burns something as simple as macaroni and cheese because she was too busy singing a song to remember that she has a family to feed. Or she'll be walking the family's dog, Bruno, and before she knows it, the dog has somehow gnawed it's way out from the leash and ran off, all without her knowing. Long story short, Brielle's a daydreamer. She gets caught in lala land while performing the simplest of tasks. Because of her imagination always taking a toll on her, she's almost never asked to do something, leaving her with many spare time on her hands.

Brielle Embrey. The youngest and most recent addition to her family. Her parents do not swim in money and jewels like their District One neighbors, but they do own enough to spare a few extra dollars on materialistic items, providing a very comfortable life for Brielle herself. Brielle's grown a strong attachment to her old brother, Derrick, considering that her parents are almost never home because of their workaholic tactics, and when they are home, her mother has the tendency to easily become angry, and her father never fails to forget both of his children's name. Brielle's admirable characteristics were therefore taught by her great aunt, Lucianne (who lives with them), and Derrick. Brielle's parents made sure of Derrick's training and preparation for The Hunger Games, and he became one of the best career tributes that District 2 has seen, gaining him the respect of District 2 for not only him, but for his family. On the other hand, Brielle could be described as the opposite of her brother - physically wise. While he spends his days throwing spear after spear at a dummy doll, Brielle sits in their home library, reading book after book. Her parents haven't even considered putting her into training, as well, probably because when she just walks from one side of a room to the other, she'll trip on account of her own feet. She doesn't mind, though. Lucianne tells her it's a good thing she isn't trained, it doesn't heighten her cockiness or competitive side. Nevertheless, she enjoys the atmosphere that only a book could imprint upon her. Being taken to another world, one where there's always a prince coming to rescue the princess, where a happily ever after was always guaranteed. Giving a shot at writing herself, she writes at a level beyond her years, with more knowledge and understanding then any of the Capitol loving frenzies she lives with today - or, at least, that's how Lucianne puts it.
On her opinion towards Panem's government and the Capitol, however, she comes at a loss. If she had to choose a word to describe this dilemma, it'd be perplexed. It's a constant struggle on her emotional understanding, both sides of her being tugged in opposite directions by two different tales reciting the same story. There were two sides of everything, and, in this case, her parents and Lucianne. Her parents' devout love, passion, and loyalty to the government gained them the lifestyle they have today. Her parents taught Brielle to display nothing but the utmost respect for the people that run their country. But, on Lucianne's side, she shares dark stories of how at a young age, she watched more than 5 of her friend's die on television during The Hunger Games, and while she mourned, The Capitol spared no sympathy, but only continued to laugh as if this was some kind of sick entertainment. Of course, Lucianne's story breaks Brielle's heart every time, but how could she go against the government when they've gifted her and her family with all they have?
Somewhere buried deep down, under her cool exterior, Brielle feels the same way Lucianne felt every Reaping, in fear of not herself becoming the tribute for District 2, but for her brother. Although with his consistent training, Brielle tremors of the thought of his death in the arena, broadcasting throughout the entire nation, everyone's eyes on him. If his name were ever chosen, Brielle already knows what would happen next. Her parent's approval displayed with a bright smile, Derrick's confident stroll to the stage, Lucianne shaking her head while resting it her in her wrinkly palm, and herself volunteering to take his place. Even if she had little to no chances of surviving, it's better than watching her brother die on a screen.
