Walking, I wanna be anywhere but here right now.
Marcelline Joelle Cotterill
"Yes Mama." She gave her mother a polite nod followed by a rehearsed smile. Finally, she perfected it and she needed to use it. The smile was sweet, almost glowing with happiness. That kind of emotion was strange to be found in the Cotterill household. The most emotion that was found was traced of disappointment and seriousness. In return to her smile Mrs. Cotterill scoffed unpleasantly slamming the door as she stalked out of Marcelline's room. Emanating from her angry wake Marcelline giggled softly. More times than she could count her mother was making a large ordeal over literally nothing. There was nothing for her mother to be upset about, therefore she made up a reason.
Typical Mama... Drawling to the conclusion that it would be hours before her mother attempted to speak with Marcelline again, she decided to ditch her house and make her way out side. Most of the time it was an easy task, sneaking out of her own residence. Everyone around her lacked the common intelligence that a teenage girl enjoyed sneaking out into the uncharted territory of District Ten. Especially a high-class mayor's daughter, type of teenage girl. They were more worried about people entering the house. Anyone other than blood related or invitation only usually would be killed right on the spot. The population was so large no one would notice. Then again, no one points out the nasty little secrets of upper class District Ten.
The actual sneaking out part was beyond simple. Marcelline grabbed her sack of field clothing, which could be found stashed under her bed, and flew out of her home. Walking to the fields was nice, refreshing. The cool wind kissed her cheeks as the sun beat her brow. In moments she stood in front of the fields being ushered to get to work. Oh how it felt nice to work.

There are certain things a proper high-class woman must not do. Do not sit with your legs crossed. Do not speak when not spoken to. Do not chew with your mouth open. The rules are only applied negatively. Not one of them describe what you should do. These are unspoken rules that one must learn themselves. Marcelline has dodged each one. Inside the depths of her house she follows them each to a "T". Outside of her house the story is much different.
Holding one hand in front of her face she smiled brightly. The dirt was embedded deep underneath her nails. It gave her a sense of accomplishment. She was actually doing something that didn't include smiling or making polite chatter. Digging at the dirt pulling weeds and other undesirable goods left her buzzing with happiness. In one swift motion she pushed herself to her feet slapping her hands against her pants.
Smiling she tilted her hat a bit forward hiding her face. Incognito. This is what she had to become. Her story, a humble family with money that just makes them break even. Of course this is complete opposite of her actual life but Marcelline felt it suited her better. With the slight ache in her arms they agreed confirming her thoughts. The fields are where she belonged.
Her jovial mood radiated from her as she got ready to leave. The sun would be retreating soon and she planned to have at least an hour to relax before going home. In the back fields the advisers barely cared. For the most part they were descent people. Yes, they are quite nasty when provoked but on a cooler day such as to day, they were quite flexible. "See ya later Sarah!" Her friend grumbled in reply, slightly annoyed by her good mood. Shrugging it off she waved offering a toothy smile in return.
Nothing could tarnish her good mood.
Your telling me white lies.
