As she walked the streets she looked around to see an abundance of peace keepers, they seem to be occupied on something. Generally when the peacekeepers got occupied with something it meant 'stay out of it'. Runtia could not help but be curious though her olive eyes following them as they cut into a alley. Looking around for any witnesses she cut the path and followed them.Fear and adrenaline was pumping through her as she followed them. Trying to dodge all the cameras that had been set up around the district. Biting her tongue she felt the taste of iron in her mouth, she must have bit the blood out of herself. Shaking away the tingling in her tongue, she crept along being as stealth as possible. She wore a old green shirt that was obviously to big, and sweat pants that were to big as well. Her shoes had holes in the sole. because she refused to waste her money on a pair of new shoes, when she could still get some mileage in these ones.
Her hair was whipping in the wind but she continued on, eying everything in her path cautiously. The peacekeepers were hot on someones trail because Runtia could the hear the conversing between them.
"Oh this one...is really gonna get..it" The tall peacekeeper said to the other standing next to him as they walked fast. Runtia kept up though and listened contently, it was times like this she was lucky to have trained with her father. Finally they stopped, and Runtia hid behind a stone corner out of sight. The smell of coffee was in the air, so she figured she had to be by a coffee house. Maneuvering herself against the wall, she adjusted herself to see the men but yet still stay hidden.
Watching she saw the peacekeepers dragging a boy from the 'coffee shop'. The boy was young about her age and the look in his eyes was defiant. As the peacekeepers snatched him away, he did not say a word just starred. The boy looked over and Runtia felt his eyes poking at her. She looked up and met them instantly, they were a sweet caramel brown. He was such a beautiful boy, and when she looked to see his lips, there was a smile.
She stood there confused as the captured boy smiled at her and the only thing she could think to do was smile back. Brown hair smoothed back and a lean athletic body, wearing a dirty shirt from a factory. As they drug him away Runtia wanted to scream, she wanted to grab him and take him away, but she just stood there. Feeling choked up and a burning sensation in her eyes, she leaned back against the corner and whispered. "Why.." Her face felt swollen from tears as she headed back to her home, she was ready to forget the boy with the smile, but was he ready to forget her? She continued on the sky was growing dark, and the alley seemed creepy in the night. But Runtia looked down and for once did not really care what she fell into.Arriving at home her mother was standing in the kitchen grabbing something from the ice box they had on the table. "Mom...how are you.." Runtia said quietly. Not saying a word, her mother turned away from her not willing to face her. Runtia felt even more tears coming on, her mother had barely acknowledged her since her fathers death. Runtia felt invisible, alone, and unloved. "Bye mom.." she whispered to herself and left the house in a rage.
She walked along the street wishing there was something more then District 3. Looking she seen a huge TV that was seen throughout the entire district. It was replaying some old battles from the past Hunger Games. Pulling her eyes away in disgust she crept along. Isolation use to excite her now it made her realize how truly alone she has been, a friend would be nice. But then again who would want to be friends with someone like Runtia, they would have to be a misfit to like her.
