[/i] A sharp cry escaped the blonde as she dropped to her knees. The alley was dark and secluded, the pavement beneath her offered no warmth, the buildings of District One towered above her. Her only cover was the shadows cast by the setting sun. Amira had been acting strangly, well stranger than normal, since the incident after the Reaping. She'd taken to avoiding everyone, trying to keep at a safe distance. She was a ticking time bomb, god help anyone around when she went off. All the terrible things she'd done played over and over in her mind, accompanied by Sinan's snarling voice. "You are the kind of person who tries to wash away the blood on your hands with more blood. Learn to love it Amira. There just isn't a way out. You've exhausted all your options." Amira took a shaking breath, pounding her fist against the ground. There's still one way out... Her thoughts were interrupted by a haunting laugh. "You don't have the guts. Besides, do you really think hell is much better than here?"
"My fate is horror and doom..."
Amira couldn't even remember why she'd come to this place, or what was going on. The only thing she could recall was running, running blindly away from her troubles. Only problem was they had followed her. "You can't get rid of me, Amira. A killer is a killer, you can't change who you are..."
I fear who I am becoming,
I feel that I am losing the struggle within
I can no longer restrain it,
my strength, it is fading,
I have to give in
I feel that I am losing the struggle within
I can no longer restrain it,
my strength, it is fading,
I have to give in
A frightened whimper was all Amira could manage as she curled into a ball, almost like a turtle hiding in its shell. But the problem was that it did nothing to protect her, Sinan was in her head, he haunted her no matter what she did. A shaking hand pulled a small silver object from her pocket. A tiny knife, one she used to use as a concealed weapon against opponents was now turned on its master. Slowly she traced the letters H-E-L-P into her left forearm. Crimson started to spill from her arm. A small smile pulled at Amira's lips. It was about time some of her own blood was spilt. The scars on her stomach didn't matter to her, they were hardly enough to make up what Amira the career had done. "Desperate are we? Who's going to save you? No one could ever love you. You made damn sure of that." Amber eyes looked a the blade she held, its flawless silver had tiny rivers of red on it. This blade had seem the blood of many sparring partners. Including a girl how didn't even want to be a career, but was forced by her mother. Amira was merciless at the time. Forced the girl to fight back or be torn to ribbons. The tiny knife had found its way into her thigh. Amira cringed at the thought. How could she have done such a thing? Why didn't she stop sooner? "Because a killer is a killer, deep down you will always be a career. It's a permanent part of you." "No! I won't believe you. I'm not what you think I am!" Her voice was only heard by the heartless brick of the buildings near by.
It's growing inside of me,
that one day will come to life
Have to save
To save my beloved,
there is no escape,
because my fate is horror and doom
that one day will come to life
Have to save
To save my beloved,
there is no escape,
because my fate is horror and doom
A deep longing grew inside Amira. She wanted Duke, she didn't want to be alone anymore, but she refused to let herself put himself in danger. "Kill me already Sinan, leave everyone else out of this. My death is what you want isn't it? Her breathing grew ragged and the tears kept coming. "You're no use to me dead, stupid girl. I need you alive for at least a while longer." That made her cringe. What the hell did he want with her? Surely he didn't feel threatened. There was no way in hell she beat him in the state she was in now. What the fuck does he have to gain from putting me through this? As the sun crept lower in the skies, the shadows lengthened, and still Amira felt no solace. Everything had been thrown into turmoil. Her whole life had been turned upside down and inside out. A savage growl escaped her throat as she tightened her grip on her knife. Painstakingly slowly she carved into her right forearm, H-E-L-L.
Hold down your head now,
just let me pass by
Don't feed my fear,
If you don't want it out
just let me pass by
Don't feed my fear,
If you don't want it out
"Oh Amira, really you shouldn't do that. You're such a pretty girl, it's a shame to waste that beauty. It served you well for drawing in male opponents and then giving them the kiss of death.." Slamming her head into the pavement Amira hissed in pain, blood beginning to streak down from her forehead. "I don't know what you're talking about..." Why did he insist she'd killed people? She could recall times when she'd maimed or crippled her opponent, but never delivered the final blow. Nothing made sense anymore. Everything Amira had been taught growing up had failed her. Her career mentally broke and left her crazy. Maybe all she was ever meant to be was a career... But how could she go back to that life? She couldn't, not after seeing what careers were really like. A key example being Sinan. "Ouch Amira. I'm really hurt. You hate me, but you'd never say such a thing about Duke and he's a career too. But not even he wants you now. You told him to hit the road." Amira clenched her knife as if it would protect her from her own mind. Sinan knew nothing about her relationship with Duke. He was just a heartless creep. Wasn't he? And Duke wasn't a career any more... He'd changed, he'd given up the Games for her. Amira looked down at the blood on her arms with a strange feeling of infatuation, before turning away with disgust. What the hell is wrong with me?[/i]
Long ago, it came to me
and ever since that day,
infected with it's rage
but it ends today
