Ray Gray ~ District 1 (finished)

Ray Gray is the shortest girl in her class. At only 4'9", she is as short as a 9 year old. Her short torso and short legs make for a midget effect. Ray's dark chestnut hair is a tad bit longer than the length of her chin. The bottom is a faded from when she died her hair black, creating a fade-in effect to her scalp.

Ray has light tan skin, like she spends too much time inside. In reality, her skin doesn't change, no matter what. Ray's lips are a soft pink and her eyes are almost black, hinting at the dirty red color of mud. Her button nose hasn't changed since she was little. It has a few not very prominent freckles which makes her eyes pop.

Ray is a ditzy girl. She doesn't really understand the concept of too much talking. She is very smart in theory, though. Ray does well in school because she wants to be a peacekeeper. In theory, that would be possible if she grew to five feet.

Ray feels a need to help others. Her kind-hearted and free nature keeps her wanting to do good. When her mother died, Ray took to arranging everything. Ray also likes to know what is going on in the districts. She doesn't gossip, but feels a need to know everything.

Ray doesn't eat meat, in other words, she is a vegetarian. She feels as if eating an animal is like eating a friend or brother. It's just not right! Her style is very refined. She likes to have fun, if people want to have fun with her. Sometimes people make fun of her because she doesn't appear smart. It makes her feel bad, but she knows that it's also because they're jealous of her prettiness.

Ray grew up in the luxury of being in District 1, her parents didn't have to work, because they had a ton of money that was left to them by her mother's parents. They spent it frivolously until the money dwindled slowly down to almost nothing. Then there was a problem. Her mother took up a job in the Capital and her father became a Peacekeeper in District 9. This left Ray, her older sister, and older brother, both who, quite frankly, could have cared less. They had friends who had money. Then their mom died. It was a deep blow to the torn apart family, who just became more distant from each other. Sometimes her brother and/or sister didn't show up for weeks on end.

Because she was raised by her father after the age of 11, things started to change; Ray no longer had the luxury of everything she wanted, even though she isn't that kind of person. She helps with money by doing work for some of the people in the middle of the city. Her Father couldn't come home, and Ray barely saw her brother or sister anymore. It was becoming hard to live on her own, so she asked a teacher for help. The teacher supplied her with money and put her into part of the training program that Careers go through.

Ray had an easier life after that. She reconnected with her sister about a year after their mother's death and they take care of each other. Ray's sister makes some money, and since she is one year older than her, takes care of Ray as well. It's not like she really needs it though, she is smart, even if she does appear ditzy.
