Appearance:
You were standing in the wake of devastation
And you were waiting on the edge of the unknown
And with the cataclysm raining down
Insides crying, "Save me now"
You were there, impossibly alone

[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]Red heads tend to take a lot of crap from people. Vena's no exception. Her red hair is long and extremely curly. If she doesn't smear some sort of cream through her normally frizzy ringlets she ends up looking some sort of giant flaming red Q-tip. Her eyes are a soft, gentle shade of blue that goes beautifully with her red hair. She's always considered herself as pretty, though not to the point of being vain.
Her skin isn't necessarily pale but it's not tan either, it's somewhere between. And it's as milky as it is smooth. Her breasts are an average size, and she is fairly thin and athletic due to her Career training. Her legs are longer than most, as she is taller than most. Her waist is long too, and all together she stands at about five foot ten inches. One of the tallest girls in the district.
Her clothing is nothing out of the ordinary or flashy. She wears simple combat style clothes. There's a special pair of combat boots that are her favorite shoes, of which she has many, though she doesn't wear them. Her parents buy her nice things, but she usually doesn't use them but when the occasion calls. Her clothes, much to her parents chagrin, are plain and simple. Just a blue tight-fitting tank top and a pair of tight denim shorts. This with her combat boots makes up her usual outfit.
Personality:
Do you feel cold and lost in desperation?
You build up hope, but failure’s all you’ve known
Remember all the sadness and frustration
And let it go. Let it go
You build up hope, but failure’s all you’ve known
Remember all the sadness and frustration
And let it go. Let it go
[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]A lot of people describe Vena as deep. Maybe even a little over dramatic and times. She has feelings and she likes people to know them. She tries to describe them in the most artistic and creative way possible. A way that paints a picture of her emotions. That's what she does. It's what she's good at. Self-evaluation, spiritual journeys, and looking into parts of her mind she didn't even know she had. Vena views the world from a different perspective than most people. She views it in the palm of her hand. She can dissect emotions from almost anyone.
She's a bit of a smart-ass too, to be honest. Her parents hate that about her, but it's who she is. She has a tendency to make snarky and sarcastic comments to anyone she deems worthy of receiving them. She doesn't go around purposely hurting people or slashing them with her sharp words, but she doesn't really help them much either.
Ven definitely has her dark moments like anyone else, but she has her light moments too. If someone's on a street corner getting bullied or beat up she's not gonna join in and help the abuser, but rather abuse the abuser. If that makes sense? She lives to make people eat their words and turn their hypocrisy in on themselves. She likes letting everyone know they don't have any valid excuses for their acts of cruelty, and neither does she. Ven is very aware of this fact. She accepts it at face value and moves right along to mowing down the next asshole with an ego the size of the Capitol.
A man once asked her what gave her the right to attempt to take the podium out from underneath his feet and strip him of everything that made him stand above the others. Her response was simple, blunt, cutting, painful, and true. She also has a very specific way of speaking. One that's not quite out of the norm but also isn't seen very often. It's like a mix of just a little old English, her own personal grammar, and the way everyone else in District Two speaks. It's very... her. In general.
History:
And in a burst of light that blinded every angel
As if the sky had blown the heavens into stars
You felt the gravity of tempered grace
Falling into empty space
No one there to catch you in their arms
As if the sky had blown the heavens into stars
You felt the gravity of tempered grace
Falling into empty space
No one there to catch you in their arms
Vena was born and raised in District Two. That should be obvious considering she's not allowed to go anywhere. Her parents are Martha and James Jemmarick and they were both born in District Two as well. In fact, up until before everyone got separated into the thirteen, now twelve, Districts her intire family has been born here. The house they all live in is large, old and creaky. It's been in her family's possession for as long as even her parents can remember.
She was born when the 42nd Hunger Games were going on. Unlike other people who had kids around the times the Games started, her parents watched them with ease. And just like those who control the Districts, they were entertained by it. Vena has always kept a close eye on her parents. Especially when she was a kid since they were who she learned everything from. Even though she had a good education and is considered to be fairly knowledgeable she still looked to them. Yes, her parents are quite rich.
She's never bothered to ask them what they do and they never talk about it. So as people can imagine, she doesn't know much about their jobs, only that they work high up in the business of supplying peacekeepers. To be honest, she doesn't really care what they do. In fact, she doesn't really care about them in general. Once she got past the age where she looked to her parents for everything, she saw what was really going on.
Vena had lost count of how many years her dad has been abusing her mother. She first witnessed it when she was around eleven when her father struck her because she had given money to a local homeless person who had previously been out on the street begging for money, shelter, or food. She had only given him enough for a cheap meal at a local lower class restaurant, nothing extravagant by any means. And yet her father hired a man to go rob and shoot that poor homeless guy.
This is when she stopped caring about her dad. She was nicer towards her mother because she was being abused after all. But after watching her mother turn away a chance of getting out of her marriage just so she could keep spending James' money... that's when Vena lost all respect towards her. Vena, personally has never been struck by her father or mother. She was a rather well behaved child. It's just a show for her parents though. Because they don't care enough to make sure she's doing more than what they get to see in person.
In an act of rebellion against her parents Vena often goes to parties, getting drunk and sleeping around with guys she doesn't know and will most likely never see again. She's even gotten knocked up once and was able to quietly pay for a procedure to be done to abort the child. Her parents still don't know about it. She regrets doing all these things after doing them, but nonetheless returns to do them again every time she gets the chance.
In an act of rebellion against the capitol she's been trying to find ways to sneak food and supplies to not just the people in her own District in need of them, but those in others as well. She has experienced the sick and twisted minds of the Capitolites in watching them on television, eating enough food to supply a small starving family all on their own but never sharing it with those in need. She doesn't like the Capitol. She doesn't like the Games, yet she trains for them anyway. And she doesn't like her life. Not yet anyway.
