Wisteria (Wisty) Green District 10

Wisty’s appearance is nothing special. She stands at 5”3 and she is around 95lbs. Her soft skin is lightly tanned. Her naturally wavy hair is an earthy brown colour and it cutely rests near her shoulders. With the hair style she has, her bangs hang off the right side of her face and they usually get in her way of her eyes when she looks down.

In Wisty’s opinion, her nose is her worst feature. It’s big around the nostrils, and rather flat. However, her nose has yet to have a pimple! Wisty’s chapped lips are a beautiful shade of pink, but they are quite thin. When she smiles, her lips turn into thin lines that reach from cheek to cheek, and her pale blue eyes squint, which shows off her eyelashes. Wisty’s best feature, by far, are her long eyelashes.

Wisty is a typical 14 year old girl. She loves boys, however, she tends to be nervous around them. When she speaks to a boy, she can never look him in the eye. When she is even in the same room a boy that she likes, her entire face blushes red and she starts to stutter. In short, she’s very shy around those of the opposite sex.

Wisty is also a very kind person. When asked for assistance, she will do anything she can to help. In her neighborhood, she in known to be around younger children or the elderly. She prefers to be with the elderly because they give good advice and have interesting stories. Whereas little children pick their nose and whine.

Wisty’s major fault is her short temper. Normally, if something angers her, she’d try to get as far away from it as possible. However, on her off days, when even the smallest things set her off, she would hide away from other people. Her common hiding place is her family’s barn. She likes it there because it’s the quietest place she knows, and she can often sleep away her anger.

Wisty’s biggest pet peeve is when people call her Wisteria. Sure, it is a pretty name, but it was her father’s cow’s name. Who’d want to be named after a cow? “That cow made me a lot of money, It was very special to me,” He’d say. Then, he’d pat her head and call her his “little moo-moo.” That’s her second pet peeve. What kind of nickname is “little moo-moo?”

When Wisty was a toddler, she was diagnosed with Mondini Malformation, which gives her a hearing loss in both her ears. This has been a burden on her life, as she often asks people to repeat what they’ve said, once or more times. With her hearing loss, She has a hard time hearing the letters Sh, S, H, Ch, W, T. So if someone told her to “Stop it right now,” She might hear, “..op ih.. rye, now,” but that would only be if the room was quite loud. If she’s in a quiet place, she finds it easier to hear full words.
(For those of you who don’t know, Mondini Malformation is when the cochlea in your ear has less than 2 ½ spirals.)

Wisty was born into a well-off family in District 10. Her parents can afford a medium-sized farm and they can feed themselves. Their farm consists of two female cows, two chickens, a rooster, and a pig. Wisty’s favourite of the animals is the rooster whom she named Eggbert. Eggbert was her birthday present when she turned 10. Somehow, she’s managed to persuade her parents to keep him alive, instead of eat or sell him.

Wisty’s family consists of her mother, her father, and herself, plus the farm animals. Her family works well together. They’re happy, they’re well-off, and they get along well. More simply, they’re very lucky. However, there is a downside, Wisty’s mother is pregnant. Sure, you’d think this was good, But one more mouth to feed means they’d have to feed themselves less.
