Age: 17
Gender: Female
District/Area: District 4
Appearance:
Amelia is a slender girl with auburn hair, though she usually wears it in a loose bun, to keep out of her face when working on the docks. She takes after her father, with large grey eyes. Her skin is dotted with freckles, a side affect of being in the sun all day long. Her slightly angular jaw and ski-slope nose make her look younger than she really is. A few years ago an accident on the docks left her with an jagged scar across the corner of her bottom lip. When it comes to talking about this, she shies away.Personality:
Amelia is a self concious girl when she's around others. With the way she's been brought up - she's learnt not to trust many people. She keeps her head down and soldiers on to her destination.
She's 5'7 and weights 119lbs. Most of the time, she walks around the District bare foot. To feel the sand beneath her feet is freeing. Her day to day wear consists of tatty grey shorts and a slim fit ocean-blue vest.
Though she's small, she's very agile. She feels the most at home in the water, swimming and diving.
Wrapped around her right wrist is a piece of old rope, she was given it by her brother when he was younger, he also wears an identical piece, he told her it's so if they were ever separated, they can find one another again. It's Amelia's most important possession.
When alone, Amelia is calm and carefree. When around others, she's always weary. She finds it easier to think when she's by the ocean, but she usually only ventures out at night. It's quiet at that time - which is the only time she can think. She's a firm believer that she makes her own fate.History:
She doesn't trust others often. But when she does, she's loyal. It takes a lot to get close to Amelia.
She tries to be nice to those who are nice to her. But she can be distant. Often she's caught up in a world of her own. Sometimes she wishes someone will come along and force their way into her life, or maybe just for someone to tell her that things are not as bad as they seem.
She's tactical and is always working out the best answer to a question. On rare occasions, she's seen with a smile on her face often with no real reason. Those days are her favourite. Anything that shrugs the hovering grey cloud from over her head.
Amelia Underwood is the eldest daughter of Sandy, who fixes broken nets and Kellen Underwood, who sells fish on the local market. Her youngest brother, Dominic is 10 years old.Codeword: Odair
She was brought up in a family who despises the Capitol. The annual Hunger Games is a hard time for her family. In the 39th Hunger Games, Kellen Underwood's younger brother was reaped. Kellen Underwood has never been the same since watching his brothers death. Most days, when Amelia returns home for dinner, Kellen is often found talking to himself about the Hunger Games and the Capitol and what they did to his family. Her mother thinks he's getting ill. This is the main reason why Amelia tries to ignore everything about the Hunger Games - it's driving her family apart.
Despite the troubles with her father, she's had a normal childhood. She's always been the top of her class and tries hard in everything she does. She's had friends, but no one she would class as being a close friend. She's found, in her short 17 years, that no one stays with her for long. This is the reason she likes to be alone.
She's determined and only wants the best for her family. She's a very keen swimmer and for the past year has been teaching Dominic how to swim. He's a natural, just like his mother.
Her mother talks greatly of the other Districts, all but District One. She doesn't favour the Capitol either, but unlike her husband, she doesn't mention it. Because of her mothers love for the majority of Panem, Amelia dreams about travelling though the thought of leaving her mother to care for her father and Dominic usually wakes her from her reverie.
