Amira Birch District 4

Amira is a tall for her age. At 6'2 she towers over all the other girls. She is stocky in build, not femenine like girls her age. In fact a first glance somemight even think she is a boy. Her build is muscular, probably from all her training. She has thick bulging muscles for arms, powerful legs, and a muscular stomache. Her skin is tan a slightly leathered, and she has sun spots all over her skin. People shy away from her like she has some kind of disease.

Her face is pretty, even though it's slightly boyish. She has honey hair bleached by the sun and startling green eyes. However, that isn't what makes her pretty. Her features are tough and rugged, but those who know her see the kind expressions and deep compassion in her eyes. She has a scar on one eyebrow from where her father hit her. It took off half her eyebrow so now it's just white skin. She has a strong stubborn jaw, but a delicate nose and mouth.

Amira is what some would call rude and unapproachable. Those that know her don't think this. She is kind when she can be but often comes off gruff and aggressive. Most people shun her for her apperance. She isn't happy. In fact she despises almost everything about her ife.She has to be the picture of strength. She must show no weakness or sadness.

Amira suffers from deep sadness over her life. She feels used and unwanted. She trys to act like things don't bother her but they do. She often gets shunned by people her age. The boys are envious and her strength bruises their pride. The girls shun her because she is to built and to strong. So in turn she is hateful and mean to them. If she shows aggression they will never know her true hurt.

She despises her family. In her eyes they are the reason she is strong and more manly than the boys. They pushed her to this. The only person she cares about is her cousin Shaddea. Shaddea is the one person who loves her and who Amira can truely show her kindness and vunerability too.

Raised up in a fishing family amira has worked on the water since she could walk. She is an only child and the daughter her parents never wanted. She was raised to be slaughtered, or at least thats the way she sees it.

When she wasn't on a boat fishing she was in training for the Hunger Games. Her father would tell her since she was born a girl the least she could do was bring some glory to the family. Her family isn't bad off but it's not enough for her parents. Her mother and father would often hit her when she missed a target with her trident, didn't run fast enough, or lift enough weight.

Her only solace during this was her cousin Shaddea. She would go off and play with her when she was little. Later Shaddea would hide her when her parents were looking for her. They were closer than sisters.

Shaddea never had to work because she was born with a rare leg desease where she couldn't walk without aid. So Amira would try to bring her things to make her happy. She would bring her brightly colored shells or coral.Shaddea had a very solitary life but she was always smiing. She loved when Amira would come see her. She helped her get through the days. Shadea needed Amira, and Amira needed shaddea.

When Amira turned 12 Her parents fobade her to see Shaddea. This was an utter heartbreak for both girls. Amira was kept under constant watch, either working with her dad or undergoing extensive training. She never has free time anymore, her father made her stop working when she was 14. Now her all her days are dedicated to being good enough to win the Hunger Games.
