Age: Fifteen.
Gender: Female
District/Area: District 4
Appearance:
Axelle, more commonly know as Elle, has long light hair that hangs down to her mid back. Usually getting in the way, Axelle has resulted in tying it back as soon as she wakes up in the morning. She has light toned skin that seems very smooth and flawless, though if you look closely enough you can see the small scars she has on her arms and legs. Elle's eyes are somewhere between a blue and a gold, if thats even possible. They are a very dominant features on her, in fact it's almost impossible not to look at her eyes.Personality:
Just above Elle’s left brow, on her temple is a scar that she got the first time she tried to fish. It’s not extremely noticeable, but unless you have bad eye sight you probably won’t miss it. Usually, being the daughter of a merchant, Elle can be found wearing her brown shirt and dark pants. They are old, and worn but do not have holes in them. If they did, her father would insist on buying her new ones, and Elle, not liking to waste money usually sews any holes before her father can see them. Elle has a rather knew pair of navy blue sneakers that she wears everyday.
Axelle stands at around 5’3, meaning she’s not very tall, and she’s only 93 lbs. Basically, unlike her tall, broad shouldered father. Elle is petite, taking after her mother.
Axelle Jacques has always played the responsible daughter, always wanting to help out her father. She was never interested in rebelling against anything, having more of a ‘That’s just the way it it,’ attitude. Elle is one to look to if you need advice. She’s quick to give it, and it’s usually not bad, she’s smart, adapting to things quickly and rarely showing her true feelings.History:
Axelle was never so poor she didn’t have food, but that never stopped her from understanding what poor really was. Her father is always telling her how empathetic she is, because she empathizes with everyone. From watching her first Hunger Games, Elle realized what poor was. The kids from district twelve, that barely ate, the kids from eleven that worked every year during harvest instead of attending school. Elle never wanted that to be her, so ever since, she has never asked for anything that might involve spending money. Not clothes, or special meals, nothing. This might also be because Elle hates it when people do things for her. If she can do it herself, she will. She’s very independent that way.
Axelle has a short temper, and though she will bite her tongue through most, if you really start to annoy her she will lash out. She’s quick to stand up for herself, and her friends. While Elle is a good friend, she has few great friends. Mostly because she’s very reserved and its hard to get to know her. When one does get to know her, or starts to get to know her, they will usually find that Elle has a humorous attitude. She loves telling jokes and even though most of them are really corny, she can usually bring a smile to your face.
Elle, though not realizing it herself is a little judgmental. She doesn’t forgive easily, and has a hard time looking past the things she believe.
On a beautiful sunny day, Axelle Jacques’ mother went into labour. Do to complications, she died that day, leaving behind a beautiful little girl.Codeword: odair
The moment Pascal Jacques saw his little girl he knew nothing was ever going to happen to her. He would protect her, teach her to fish and even teach her (secretly of course) how to fight. If the unspeakable were to happen and Elle was to be a tribute, she was going to be prepared. Axelle grew up sheltered with an over protective father and enough money to get them by without starving. She lives solely with her father, the two of them are quite close, and though he does get on Elle’s nerves sometimes she has never snapped at him. She respects him way to much to do so.
At the age of five Pascal took Elle fishing for the first time, but the trip ended when Elle cut herself on a hook leaving a scar just above her left brow. It took another year before Pascal would take her again. At the age of six Pascal started worrying about the games. He was so fearful of Elle’s odds that he began to train her to fight. On their fishing trips he’d teach her the ins and outs of fighting with a spear. Over time Elle got rather talented at it and she loves training. She asked her father about other sorts of fighting, daggers, tridents, even hand to hand combat. Her father taught her what he knew, but spears remained Elle’s strong point.
In school Elle made a few friends though she remained rather reserved. Only the rare person gets to know the real Elle, it has been like that her entire life. Its not that she’s shy, she just prefers being alone. At home Elle cooks for herself and her father who is somewhat of a mess in a kitchen. Pascal has often said that without Elle he’d have been dead years ago.
The year Elle turned twelve she experienced her first Reaping. Luckily she was not called upon and after that it was as if a weight had been lifted, she’d gone through her first Reaping and lived to tell the tale. It seemed as if she could make it six more years. Though Elle never stopped training she did feel a little more relieved after her first Reaping. She began to open up more, smiled more often and even though she still preferred to be alone she began to hang out with friends more often.
Now, at the age of fifteen Elle has begun thinking about her future. When she was younger she’d refuse to because she thought it would be awful to plan a life and than have it taken away by the Capital. Elle has decided that when she’s older she will be a baker. She loves the smell of the bakery and loves baking.
