Age: Fourteen
Gender: Female
District/Area: District 4
Appearance:
Courant is a rather young an inexperienced young girl. Only about fourteen, it looks very unlikely she'd ever win the Hunger Games if she was chosen. At a very even five foot three, she's not very short, nor is she very tall. She's only a bit skinny though, a slightly low ninety-five pounds. But, she'll tell you herself, that's an ideal weight for someone in District Four. She's a little unimpressive frame-wise, though, looking like an extremely small child from afar. However, on closer inspection, one can see she has slightly impressive arm and leg strength, enough to defend herself from a random encounter from another child her age. Older people? Not as certain.Personality:
'Quickflow', as she is sometimes nicknamed, has a thick head of curly brown hair and some cute freckles on her face. But, don't be fooled, the second you stare into her eyes, you get the cold, icy stare that only her bright blue orbs can give. Even with her 'cute' appearance, she comes off as a little unsettling. Then again, the large scar she has trailing down her left eye doesn't help. It's a very jagged, unclean cut, implying that it was done with very little forethought or time. It trails off to the side near the start of her cheeks, making it look like a whole chunk had intended to be cut off. It's a little scary looking, really.
She's also rather far from a fair-skinned princess. Courant is a rather tan girl, with plenty of freckles besides the ones on her face, and almost always a smudge of dirt somewhere, if not everywhere.
Oh, boy, where to begin.History:
Courant is a very hard-working individual. She's always ready to work herself for her pay, and she's always loyal to her job. She's inexperienced in a lot, but if you can find a job and a payment for her, she'll do it. Anything.
That being said, she's a little... immoral, when it comes to money. She's definitely greedy, ready to even kill when it's at stake. Granted, she has enough, but she's ready to make more. She's not afraid to get her hands dirty for it, either, whether it be dirt... or blood.
She would never be a cold-hearted killer, though. Courant is surprisingly a very sweet child. At the most, she'll only treat a stranger with a cold stare and an awkward silence. Just don't stare for to long.
But, for the most part, she's a very unbiased party. Unless it's her parents you are talking about, she'll treat no one person with more or less care. Unless she has set a vendetta against them. But that doesn't happen too often. She's not one to judge, because she isn't the strongest link on the chain either, but be warned, she's not the one to take pity on the pitiful.
No matter who.
Even when Courant was a really young child, her parents found her constantly at work.Codeword: odair
At the earliest age she could remember, Courant remembered peeling shrimp and cracking the shells of oysters. Her parents always wanted to positively motivate her for doing certain things like helping them with their jobs, so when she would help with seafood, she'd get a reward.
That was basically most of her young life, though. She loved to work, and she did it in most of her spare time. Not essentially the work, but the reward. No matter how small her rewards were, she was proud to get them. So she was a very hardworking student at school as well, constantly studying, even when she didn't agree with what the schools said.
Now, her parents were never really against the capitol or for the capitol. They were very neutral, or they gave the appearance, for the most part. In secret, though, Courant herself found that she kinda liked the capital. Even though she knew that she might one day have to participate in the Hunger Games, she always thought to herself the capitol was somewhat justified.
The capitol was justified, right?
But, either way, she was pretty much content with her situation. Her parents made enough so that she was not deprived in the least, and the three were always a very happy trio. Maybe she wasn't the brightest of students, or the strongest of them, but not of that mattered.
She made friends, too. She had crushes. But, but her biggest friend was pay-off, and her biggest crush was the money in her pocket. She was extremely reluctant to let go of either of those. She still is.
Oh, and the gash along her face? Nobody really knows how she got it. Not even she does, really. One day, she woke up screeching, and when he parents came to retrieve her, half of her face had blood splatters on it. But one thing's for certain, the scar is not the only impression the incident had on her.
For the first few days, everyone had to question it. The jagged line down the side of her face was apparent and just way to hard to hide. Even when it wasn't questions, it was the stares. The stares! They burned into her, never subtle or hidden.
As if the pain from the incident wasn't enough, it left her emotionally hurt as well. Who would do something like that? It was all she could think about. Who would try to scar a fourteen year old? Questions like that always plagued her, and they still do. But, for the most part, she's okay with it.
At least the stares have stopped, right?
