Irie Mitsuka D4 [new:Thomas]

When one looks at Irie, the first thing they notice is her short and choppy black hair that swoops delicately around her face. Her hair starts out rounded towards the top, the first layer ending shortly at the very top. The next layer ends above her eyebrows, tipped with white highlights, and swoops down to the right, above her ear. The left side of her hair falls below her ear and is also tipped with white. Her hair does have a few long strands, though they are only located at the back of her neck and end just above her shoulder blades. On bad days or when she wakes up in the mornings, her hair isn't as neat. It sticks up in spikes and tangles around her head, and covers her eyes.

Brown eyes lay beneath her peculiar hair. Her eyes are usually squinted, the right one being fairly smaller than the other. When she smiles, it is even more noticeable, for her eyes squint more when she is overly excited. Irie's eyes hold a nonchalant and calm glaze, though they usually contain a mysterious and cold glint to them. Some say that when they see the non-caring look to her eyes and her strange hair, they label her a trouble-maker.

Irie's nose is rather large compared to her other facial features. At the tops, it starts out thin, but gradually gets larger towards the bottom where her nostrils flare out. She has rounded cheek bones that take on a pink color, giving her the look of flushing. Her cheeks lead to a low, squared chin that sticks out compared to her other features. A set of pink lips remains above it, having a crooked grin to it when she smiles. The right side of her mouth is always upturned; sometimes being mistakened for a devious grin.

Irie has a shorter neck that widens out to her small shoulder blades. Her shoulders are very thin and end rather short. The ends of her shoulder blades aren't square or bony, for they curve like a circle down to her arms. Irie's arms are very thin and long, for her long fingertips end just a couple of inches above her knee.

If she had a longer torso, it wouldn't look so peculiar, but of course it has to be short. Her torso ends just under the mid-section of her elbow, and pretty much no curves can be seen on it. Her chest area is immensely flat, as if it hasn't grown since she was a little girl. Usually on many girls, from the chest area the mid-sections thins and then widens back out. But, on Irie, she just remains completely straight like a twig.

Like Irie's arms, her legs are also very long. In District Four, most are seen with many muscles protruding from their flesh, but once again not on the young teenager. Her thighs are not considered wide, but they are rather big compared to her thin legs that resemble a stick. Her thighs curve in much until they get to her bony knee, where the bone sticks out far in the front. From her knee, her legs are almost completely straight in the back, except for the tiny curve where her calf muscle is. The bottom of her leg doesn't have to curve in much to get to her ankle. Her ankles are also tiny, for the bone can barely be seen. Her ankles then lead to large feet, though they seem pretty normal when put together with her long leg features.

Irie lived in a "perfect" family when she was little. She had a mom and dad who gave her everything she wanted in hopes of her succeeding in life. She also had a twin brother, Aaron Mitsuka, who also was extremely smart in school. They did everything together, until Irie began to rebel against her family and Aaron preferred to stay the same.

When Irie was young, she was considered perfectly normal to her family. Just as they planned and expected, she made the highest grades in her glass, stayed quiet and had great manners, never complained about anything, etc. Everything changed, though, when she turned thirteen. At that age, she began to notice how rediculous her family was; how boring and serious her life was. It ocurred to her that there were better things to life than just making good grades and acting the "proper" way. It was okay to have fun.

Irie then began to rebel against her family. She started to not care about school, causing her grades to slip immensely. The young girl failed many classes, even though her parents did everything humanly possible to make them go back up. As she grew older, slipping grades didn't seem enough to her. Irie dropped out of school without her parents' consent at the age of fifteen. It caused her parents much grief and suffering to see their daughter so unruly and "unintelligent."

It bothered Irie, though, that her parents just began to teach her themselves. They didn't give up on their hopes and dreams of her becoming the smartest girl in the district. She turned sixteen and things began to get worse. No longer was she just refusing to learn, she was going much bigger. She began to smoke, do drugs, and she even began to date a man who was twenty three. Her parents were furious and they brought her to every person they could think of in hopes of helping her. Of course, nothing worked.

They never gave up. It seemed as if everything she did was fixable. Their hopes and dreams for her ended too soon, though. It ended when Irie's parents walked into her room to find her holding hands with another girl. It was a simple "friendly" gesture, but it crossed the line for the perfect family. It would seem that smoking and doing drugs would be much worse than maybe having feelings for another girl, but not for them. In the Mitsuka's minds, they felt as if girls could only like boys, and no one else. Little did Irie know that they had even arranged for her to marry one of their close friend's son that was the same age as her.

They disowned her after that, having nothing to do with her as they sent her to live in the Community Home. Irie's rebelling then began to die down, but she still keeps up some of the habits such as smoking every once and a while and doing drugs. She refuses to act like her family and hides her great intelligence to others behind her easy-going and quirky personality. She now works by the beach, catching fish and everything. If her parents saw her, they would be ashamed of her...well, more then they already are. She will always be a disgrace to her family.
