Appearance:
Adelaide's naturally glossy jet black ringlets glint red-gold in the sun and comes to a rest at her chest. The oval-shaped face the soft curls outlines has high cheekbones, a slightly pointed chin and a single dimple on the right cheek that come out ever so rarely when Addie smiles genuinely. Deep, dark eyes that seem a bit too wide for her face look like they're about to swallow you whole and are partially obscured by long, fluttery eyelashes. Often, these eyes have faint dark circles underneath as a result of sleeping restlessly due to worrying about each simple thing. The bridge of her nose has a slight spray of freckles and the point is somewhat pointier than others. Her plump pale pink lips resemble a bow and when parted, reveal white teeth that stand straight.Personality:
She has a willowy build, standing at a tall 5'7" with long legs and arms. Her skin is a nice olive tone, but it has grown darker and tanner over the years of working in the sun. Her hands are delicate and small, but her feet are quite large, to her dislike. They are good for balance and running, though, which Adelaide often does when she has the time to clear her mind.
Adelaide is very worrisome. She obsesses over even the smallest decision if the result proves that it has the slightest chance of being negative. Because of this, decision-making is extremely difficult for her, causing her to hesitate before each action, it being that it has to be the absolute perfect choice, or at the least the best one. Her being quite pessimistic doesn't help either, for the negative responses come easier and quicker to her than the positive ones. This also making it hard for her to trust a person.History:
She's sarcastic with a comeback or a witty comment always ready at the tip of her tongue. She loves proving someone wrong and herself right, even if many hours minutes of arguing and debating comes with. Adelaide's not shy at the least, she walks with confidence and has trouble with giving in - which can be both good and bad. For example, even if a situation is hopeless, she would still continue to try and make it better.
Adelaide's ambitious and clever, always making plans as to how to reach what she wants. Even if she is sometimes hesitant to start on her plans, they mostly turn out nicely. Every single action in her life is planned out and organized, all in the mass storage space of her mind.
Adelaide's family consists of only her and her dad. Once her mother had been a part of their small family, but they'd lost her only a month ago to a disease Addie and her father couldn't identify. Those were hard days, when Adelaide's mother had been infected. Most of the food storage went towards her, leaving little for Addie and her dad. Even with the attempts of healing her, her mother still passed away, coughing up blood as she told her family she loved them for the last time in her life. Later that night, the blood-splattered bed sheet had been burned for Adelaide couldn't stand looking at it and remembering the last memory she had of her mother.Codeword: Odair
They were, and still are, neither poor nor rich. Somewhere in the middle, though leaning towards poverty. Adelaide works in the orchards, while her dad is in the fields, after each school day so there would be money for the necessities in life. Sometimes it wouldn't be enough and she would have to scour along the district, searching for anything edible. With this experience, she knows much about which fruits, nuts, and plants are safe to eat.
They live in a cozy house, which still feels big to Adelaide even if it's quite tiny. Possibly because how there's only two people living there, but Addie knew it was just empty with the missing presence of her mother, who was the life of the family. Always so cheerful and bright. One day, wanting to try and fill the space, Adelaide'd brought home a stray cat, a ginger tabby, she'd found on the way home. Of course, it didn't solve that her mom was still not there and really only gave Adelaide and her father and extra mouth to feed, but she found herself loving the cat who rubbed against her leg each day she came home.
