District/Area: District 11
Appearance:
Rilett's facial structure is very defined. Her eyes, large and green, seem out of place while her nose is straight in the center, only with a slight slope. Her lips, usually chapped, are a mix between a light red or light pink - it depends on the day. Thankfully, Rilett's eyebrows aren't as massive as her parents thought they would be and they're just as jet black as her wavy and thick hair. Even though her hair does reach past her collar bone, she prefers to pin it up into a messy bun. Rile's face could almost be considered heart-shaped besides her straight chin; one of the many things that Rile does not enjoy about herself.Personality:
Reaching only 4 feet and 11 inches, Rilett's petite figure is skinny all around. During the summer, her ribs stick out, making her look sickly and frail. Despite her pale skin covering her face and neck, Rile's arms are tan as can be. Since working out in extremely hot conditions could fry any girl up, she prefers to wear thin, white cotton t-shirts that her father has gotten tired of. Her pants are usually a tough, tan cotton and reach down to her ankles. Flimsy flats find themselves on her feet daily, which make them sore and callused. Rilett's weight rests around 80-92 pounds depending on the season. The holidays call for more food while work shifts keep her thin. She will always smile your way.
Rilett will be polite to anyone she encounters. She believes that there is no reason to assume things about someone without even knowing who they are. Giggling and blushing occurs often when around new people but her close friends realize that she's tougher than she appears to be. Many situations at home cause Rilett to have breakdowns often, but never in front of anyone except her family. She'll help anyone in need because she is aware of how it feels to have no one there.History:
Rilett is chipper and giddy around the area in general, but not so much around the people she might consider her friends, and the numbers of them are minuscule. Paranoia takes over often. There is no trust in Rile's mind, nor can you see it in her eyes. There is no way that she can believe in other people without getting hurt in the end. She will never feel sorry for herself but she will pity others around her for their misfortunes. Also, while her mind is running, she cannot think or process correctly and most of her words come out jumbled or fragmented.
Rilett's paranoia often seems like she has ADD; her quick jump from subject to subject and wandering eyes keep her aware of her surroundings and most people cannot stand it. They often ask her if she is ignoring them and every time, she reassures them that, yes, she can hear them but, no, she may not have caught all of it. Her trust issues keep her away from emotional damage but also shuns out any idea of a best friend, boyfriend, or close acquaintances. She cannot sleep at night due to her running thoughts. This can also make her voice slower than usual. People think she may have a mental retardation but she knows far better than to care about their opinions.
Rile's parents, Denver and Kara, both keep to themselves. While they don't neglect their children, they also do not prefer to spend time with either of them. The idea of them being sent to the Games and having that relationship scares them out of their wits, so they chose not to be close at all. Her little brother, only 9 years old and dapper as ever, has autism. She seems to be the only one to understand him out of the whole district. The other children are afraid that he'll harm them or make fun of him for something he can't even control. When Rilett can, she defends Trin.Codeword: <img src="http://i41.tinypic.com/16h2ibt.png">
As far back as she can remember, Rile has been picking flowers, weeds, and wheat from wherever she was sent to do so. Despite her parent's advice not to be in contact with boys, Rilett always got along better with the little toddlers that liked to play in the mud. Never, not even once, did danger cross her mind when an older boy started picking on her. Fat, stupid, and weird were just the beginning insults that were thrown her way. Once that didn't affect her, the young man started pushing her down in the hallways, punching her arms - practically anything to get her to cry. Once she finally broke down, he laughed and left her alone, pleased with himself.
No matter what had happened, Rilett kept her grades and activities up to the high standard the school expected. Homework and tests became first priority and the children began to ignore her presence. Were they jealous? She couldn't tell, but she continued on to be close to the top of her class every year, hoping to impress her parents and gain some sort of respect. The only thing she did get was a basket full of knowledge and an empty room of people who cared to know her.
