Amberlin Jacobs, District 12

To start off, Amberlin has a long face with rounded cheeks and a chin that sticks out from the general face structure by just half an inch or so. Her cheekbones are a bit higher than normal. Amberlin's nose is about average size, but the tip juts out over her lip just a little. Amberlin's lips are semi full, but almost always chapped and bleeding.

Amberlin is frightfully skinny. She's almost too skinny for her own almost food-less good, her bones almost visible under the stretches of her pale white skin. She doesn't have many curves. In a way, she's really just skin and bones. Her legs are long, oh so very long, but nothing more.

Her eyes are not very large, but not very small ether, just a bit on the small side. Amberlin's eyes are the shade of blue gray.

Her hair, a light reddish brown color goes to about her upper chest. Amberlin's large bangs cover her eye brows totally, except for where the strands of hair split.

Amberlin, when someone first meets her, is quite and sincere. She won't say anything to offend someone right off the bat, or throw a punch at their face. She likes to be quite and sit in her misery alone. She doesn't like to have others help her.

Amberlin is outgoing. She likes to impress people when she's very close to them, but otherwise just stays quite and polite. Whenever she thinks of her childhood she will shed a tear or two, maybe more if she's already plagued by another upsetting matter.

She can be hotheaded at times, yelling profanities at people on the streets or just to herself, but the bitterness from childhood has stuck with her all these years. She often has flashbacks of the worst of her childhood years, causing her sleepless nights.

Amberlin was the first born to Lucy and Lucas Jacobs, a Seam Resident family. When Amberlin was 2 her little sister, Amy was born. As the sisters got older they forged an instant and inseparable bond.

When Amberlin was five and Amy three, her parents split up. The sisters never got to know their Mother, who their father had told them was quite beautiful. The girls lived with their father, the average coal miner, usually on just bread and butter for dinner.

When Amberlin turned 14, a twelve year old boy was reaped. He turned out to be Amberlin's half brother, her Mother had remarried and had a son named Ethan. He fought in the Hunger Games and was about to win when he got an arrow through the eye by a District Six girl, who won. At the same time Ethan was killed, Amberlin's father hung himself. It was ironic, for the exact same time that he kicked the bucket away, the arrow was plunging into Ethan's eye. It turned out that they knew little about why their parents got a divorce. Her Mother had had an affair shortly after Amy was born, as became pregnant with Ethan.

After the girls lost their Father they struggled to find a place to survive. They were able to keep the small house in the Seam their Father had owned. Amberlin discovered that she could carve things out of wood fairly well, so did so and sold them to make money. Amy started painting to sell for a few dollars as well. They've managed to stay alive so far. They lived in the company of her aunt for a few years before she went crazy, and were taken in by Amy's friend's parents. Amy's friend had been killed in the Hunger Games.
