It doesn’t matter where she goes, who she sees, Lynn Irene Prynx will always be the quiet one, opting to stay behind the scenes. This 21 year old doesn’t know what to do with her life, doesn’t know what to feel. She’s just an empty body. Her home is District 1, merely for the sake of her family. Even if she wishes to move, she knows she will always find herself in the grasp of her family. That does not stop her from frequently wandering around, prowling through the trees in search of what she wants most. She stalks, she hides; there really is nothing to stop her. The supposed spoiled brat has a hardened interior, protecting herself from the destruction others bring. After all, who can she really trust?
Here we go again
We're sick like animals
We play pretend
You're just a cannibal
And I'm afraid I wont get out alive
No I won't sleep tonight
We're sick like animals
We play pretend
You're just a cannibal
And I'm afraid I wont get out alive
No I won't sleep tonight
Lynn-Her mother chose right to name her Lynn, a supposed derivation of the name Linda. Linda, with an origin of Spain, means “pretty”. As a young woman who acts like an Iberian lynx, it is only fitting that her name comes from the Iberian Peninsula. The meaning is also fitting; the girl is in all aspects beautiful save her ears.
Irene-The original word means “peace” possibly what her mother had been intending the name mean for her daughter. The main origin is Greek, but has progressed to various other languages such as Spanish, Portuguese, and German, ironically the same origins of Lynn. But the word “peace” is nothing like Lynn. She prefers modeling herself after one woman who held her name, the 8th-century empress who was the first woman to lead the empire and blinded/imprisoned her son in order to maintain rule (no worries, he had already grown up by then). There’s something about leading that makes Lynn feel proud.
Prynx-Unknown.

Thick, blond hair are attached one-by-one along a middle hair part, each layer growing darker and thicker until the hairs near her neck are coarse and closer to her root colour. Her hair is naturally wavy, yet when she is busy, she ties her hair up in a ponytail to keep it out of her face, revealing parts about her she cares too much about. But when one is busy, who can really care how she looks? The hair strands might not be perfectly in place, but they still seem perfect where they are, blessing Lynn with what people would like to label as “good hair”. Her hair remains sleek, smooth, and patterned as it should be, with shades mixing in with other shades.
Her blue-grey eyes are lined with black, bringing out the colour in her eyes and making them look all the more serious. Ask anyone what the most noticeable part about her is, and they will tell you that the colour of her irises are particularly outstanding, bright in the right light with the flecks of white spotted along the already soft blue-grey. Her eyes are shaped to be big yet narrow at the same time, to help her see. Even though they are most brilliant in appearance during the day, they work best at night with the eyes able to see various shapes and sizes clearly in the dark.
Her pink lips are full with the right touch of make-up but otherwise appear as normal as usual, with the lower lip being slightly plumper than the top lip. Although the natural colour is more of a pale pink, Lynn is not afraid to make it a shade darker, to contrast it to her skin. Not that she really needs to, but a girl who was raised in District 1 should know better to let herself appear plain. But once she moved to the forest, her lips started to become chapped and she no longer cared about her lips. After all, what would they do for her now?
The darker eyebrows show questioning, being inquisitive on their own. They are perfectly plucked and shaped by some person her family paid to “enhance her natural beauty”. Lynn hates how they have been shaped, but she figures it would have to do for the time being. The permanent look of surprise and curiosity mixed in give her the appearance that she is looking down on whoever it is she is looking at. But like all eyebrows do, the story changes with every feeling. What once might seem like arrogance may seem calm the next instant. It really all has to do with the expression.
Sleek and sly, her flexible thin body moves through places that could never be imagined. Her body mass allows her to be quiet on her feet, to sneak through places without being detected. When crawling through small spaces, she does not clunk through; the weight is dispersed through her toes and pads of her fingers, limiting the clunking sound that would give her away. In fact, Lynn prefers to move around on all fours since it allows her to be as quiet as possible. In daily life, she will contort her way through the crowd, through alleyways, and in between rooms.
Long, dark eyelashes line the rims of her eyes, highlighting her eyes naturally. However, she frequently adds another dark line to make a dark oval shape around the white, blue, and black. It makes her feel more mysterious, darker than her normal self. Many people like to joke that it makes her look like a raccoon, a great insult to Lynn. After all, the rimming is more like one of a lynx, not a stupid raccoon.
As a relatively spoiled child, her skin is kept perfect to the constant shade. The healthy skin has tones of brown, white, and pink, creating a blend that makes Lynn look pale yet tanned at the same time. Years of spending her time outside have hardened some parts of her skin, but Lynn always attempts to find a way to keep the skin as smooth as possible, using a rock when needed.
She is ashamed of her ears, ashamed of how they look, the way they are shaped. Even if they do look out of the ordinary, they help with her hearing but being so self-conscious about her appearance, she tends to wish that her ears were not modeled that way, even if it meant she would lose the ability to pick up on conversations three dinner tables away. A layer of her hair would cover her shame, hiding away the ability and also weakening it. When her hair is not covering the ears, they stick flat to her head, almost giving the appearance that she has a slim piece of flesh for ears. It boosts the hearing since it can take in more range, but for a girl from District 1, it does nothing for her.
Her hair also covers another part of her she hates to show. The scars on her neck are self-inflicted from the time she felt she needed to claw. Each fingernail would dig into some part of the flesh, most times at the back of her neck where the muscles are. She was told to not drag her fingernails across hard surfaces so the closest available area she could scratch was the muscles supporting her neck. Since in District 1, she was able to keep them neat and trim, the scars are new, only covered by what her hair can reach.
Her long legs are where the muscles are packed in; if she is aiming for power, she would prefer using her legs. The only problem is, when would she use her legs? She does not kick often and she sees no wonderful fun in jumping. It is only in dire circumstances when she would have to jump high, but otherwise, Lynn sees no point in having long and powerful legs.
Her overall body type is labeled as petite and thin. Her full height is at a 5’3” and her weight is at an even 100 pounds. As she is a full-grown woman, her curves stand out in form-fitting clothes. They are not outstanding curves, but they are not meager by standards either. That is the reason why her mother is proud to stuff her in clothes that are much too tight, to show off her daughter’s wonderful body to the world, something Lynn despises. She might be full-grown, but there is a limit to what she is stuffed in to. The less stifling the clothes are, the more free Lynn feels.
Most can find her in comfortable clothes, clothes that stretch this way and that to allow more freedom for her to move. Especially when she is left in the forest, a setting that is only second on her list, she finds it necessary to blend in. However, her skin does limit her hiding places, forcing her to rely on her clothes in order to stay back. By herself, dark and white colours are just fine. She prefers clothes that cover her chest and torso, even though it leaves her with less protection than she could have. However, if she does what she needs to do correctly, she doesn’t need to worry about protection. If she finds herself back home and caught in a social event, a simple dress will do, most likely in the colour of blue. Surprisingly enough, she has a thing for the colour blue, probably from all those years of seeing blue everywhere in her house.
I do it every time
You're killin' me now
And I won't be denied by you
The animal inside of you
You're killin' me now
And I won't be denied by you
The animal inside of you
[/color][/blockquote]Beautiful as she is, she is ugly on the inside. No man, woman, or child can approach her for they are disgusted by how she acts, how she feels, how she looks. The irresistible looks are counter-acted by the resistible personality. Supposedly, it is their fault anyway; if they had not ignored her as so, maybe she would not have turned into the person they wanted her to be. It is everyone’s fault; they are the ones to blame. They put pitiful feelings in her heart. They put the ice in her body. They told her to stay away from everyone else, that she was not worthy of them all.
Loneliness is in her nature, something she cannot control nor will she. There is no part of her that yearns to be with another, whether it be friend or more. She stays by herself with the occasional moving around with a group. For the most part though, she will keep to herself, allowing no one else to be with her. Part of it came from the odd detachment she had from her mother when she reached her puberty years. Technically, all teenagers do that, but as she was the young girl who held her mother’s hand even at the age of 11, it was rather odd for her to start avoiding her mother and running off to do whatever she wanted.
Her relationship with her father was always tumultuous, leading people to think she has problems with her family. She is often rebellious when it comes to her father’s orders. It is for this reason she is justified in her unnatural attachment with her mother. To her, her father was never really there to care for her, while her mother gave her undivided attention, which is just what the girl wants. Ironically, it is her father who agrees to her every demand, yet Lynn cannot seem to move past the innate hatred for her father.
“Femme fatale” is a label she despises; she does not lure people in on purpose nor does she “hypnotise” her victims. She can be brutal though, allowing a punch or two to fly randomly. Wrecking havoc is her obsession, something she does as a daily routine. She will lure whoever is annoying her to their demise, leaving no trail of what she has done. She cleans up after the evidence so no one will know she was the one who committed the act, careful that no trace of her is left. She has no conscience when it comes to malice, acting on men and women alike. She is partial to children, thinking of them as young kittens who have to grow before they can be hurt.
That being said, she does have a protective nature overher kittensyoung children. She sees the birth rate to be lower than normal, feeling the need to protect the children so they can grow up to becomelynx catsmature adults. If required to, though, and the child is perceived as a threat to the community, she will deal with the problem early. She just has a problem if they are innocent since there are only so manykittenschildren running around.
If anyone were to try to find her, they would have to look during the night time when she is most active. Otherwise, she might be seen lurking around, prowling throughout the day. As a prowler, she has a preference for the deserted areas outside her district; being amongst humans displeases her. There is always competition since there are so many people brought together, lessening her chances of survival. So she pushes herself away from the community, to prevent herself from being taken down by one of the other members. She finds them useful at times, wandering in to get the food she needs and to make sure there are no threats.
Did she forget to mention that she likes to eat meat? The rarer the meat is, the better. She has a fondness for the tender flesh of rabbit, but as she cannot always get what she wants, she is just fine with whatever meat is available. Carnivorous is one way to label her; some almost wish to name her a cannibal. Thankfully, she has not quite reached the point of eating human flesh, but if it is necessary, she will.
A dumb blonde would be a wonderful but false way to describe her. She does have problems learning from a textbook, relying on her animal instincts rather than human knowledge. That being said, she has street smarts, something frowned upon by the people in District 1. It was either be intelligent or be a beautiful airhead; there were no other options. Lynn felt that since her smarts would not be appreciated at her home, she would one day strive to find a place where she could fit in.
As a way to boost her self-esteem, Lynn loves to believe that she is rare, one of a kind. There are only so many people out there like her, that her head is frequently inflated. She is right though; there are only a handful of people out there who act like her. To see humans acting like animals is rare; to see one acting like an Iberian lynx is near impossible. So her ego keeps building and building until someone can bring her back to Earth and deflate it.
Hush, hush
The world is quiet
Hush, hush
We both can't fight it
It's us that made this mess
Why can't you understand?
Whoa, I won't sleep tonight
The world is quiet
Hush, hush
We both can't fight it
It's us that made this mess
Why can't you understand?
Whoa, I won't sleep tonight
It is said that the first thing Lynn did when she was born into the world was mew. Which would have been extremely odd if her mother did not laugh it off and say that Lynn must have been the reincarnation of her old cat. It should be interesting to note that while baby Lynn did maintain cat-like characteristics, she always felt more like a lynx, an Iberian lynx to be precise. After all, she was born from a mother whose ancestors were from the Iberian Peninsula. The poor lynx kitten felt trapped in the little girl’s body, unsure of how she could present herself to the world. So she stayed attached with her mother.
It is also told that when Lynn first opened her eyes, the first thing anyone noticed was the brilliant blue that shone the lights from the ceiling to her eyes. The bright white spots of light astounded everyone in the room, everyone including her mother.
But what really happened to Lynn Irene Prynx? Was she born with a mew? Did she really have those brilliant eyes?
Lynn was born in a District 1 hospital, one of the best for her father would go for no lower quality hospital. Her mother had been going through labour for several hours by then, ready to get the abomination out of her body. After all, the baby was the reason why her mother would always have stretch marks along her lower tummy, something that would be a crime to any District 1 woman. Her father was the one who was prepared for the little girl he always wanted, the one he could dote on forever and ever. Rather ironic that the roles would flip once she was born.
She did in fact mew when she was born, surprising the entire hospital staff and her parents. No one could think of any reason why the child would mew instead of cry, but they later took her for what she was. Her blonde hair had random strands of brown, highly unusual for a newborn baby but again, they all took her for what she was. She eventually grew out of it as well, the hairs becoming a thick bottom layer. The doctors had tests done, to make sure that she was in fact human. When the tests came back positive, the Prynx family took her home in an instant.
At home, she was subject to many observations and scrunched stares. Her mother thought the baby would be unique and since she was already so beautiful, her mother was happy with the girl. Her father, on the other hand, could not help but speculate on what happened. Sure enough, she had his nose, but why was she so strange? As a young child, she remembered her dad staring at her frequently, causing the little girl to run and hide behind her mother. She viewed her father as distant and even told her mother that. Her mother waved it off as if it was nothing for her to be concerned about.
While at home, the little girl would often hear things she should not have been hearing. She could hear her parents fight, she could hear them make up for it afterwards. In a way, it emotionally scarred Lynn; the things she heard were drastic. She still stuck with her mother throughout her childhood years though, finding security with the mother figure. And her mother complied. They would attend socials together, Lynn always holding on to her mother’s hand.
At school, Lynn was neither the best nor the worst in the class. She probably could have been placed higher in the class if she wasn’t so distracted all the time. All of her teachers worried that the girl would go nowhere in her life since her focus was all over the place. However, it was really the teacher’s fault for not making the subject more exciting. She claimed that if class had been more interesting, she would have paid more attention to the material than the random snowshoe hare outside the window.
Needless to say, Lynn spent the rest of her time at school spacing out. She knew what she was doing; she just didn’t make an effort to tell anyone she knew. The social scene at school was chaotic. Although she was supposed to be one of those at the top of the school, a snarl was enough to make her the loner. She was not afraid to spread gossip on people who irritated her, therefore labeling her as the destructor of school hierarchy, a label she wore proudly.
Puberty was a rough patch for Lynn as all she wanted was to escape from her mother. All of the adoring attention Lynn wanted at first was now gone as she constantly pushed her mother away. She felt grown-up and told everyone that she needed to leave so she could experience the world for her own. Everyone thought the thirteen-year-old was insane. After all, who felt like they were mature at the young age of 13? But Lynn insisted that it was the natural thing to do, to separate from the mother. Everyone held on to her in fear that she would make good her words and run away. The resentment to the human population brew from this restraint, and Lynn grew darker and darker inside.
Graduating out of school, she was one of the most hated girls in her class. Not that she gave them much room for them to like her. It was then that Lynn had no idea what to do with her life. She supposed she could have pursued her education, but that was too much trouble. So she stayed at home and lived off of her father’s income. It wasn’t until her mother forced her to go to one of the social parties that she decided that she had enough of her home and ran away.
She tried to settle in a nice shrubby area a little off the district but found it difficult to conceal herself there. So she moved on to the forests, hunting by using whatever materials she had left. Since she was able to sneak around, catching small prey was not a complication. All it took was a wringing of her hands and the animal was dead. If she felt like she was in the mood, she might bite at their neck, severing the artery and feeling the blood drip. She continued to stay at the forest, not knowing what had happened to her family. She would visit some other time when she felt she would like some company, but for the most part, she was forever alone.
