Aura Latter District 12

I have light brown colored hair that sometimes looks red which has surprisingly kept its beautiful color and all my family has lost her pretty hair color. I have green eyes and brown eyebrows. I also have short eyelashes. My ears and lips are medium-sized. My lips are a little dry. I have a pale/tan face. I have white teeth but not perfectly white, my teeth are decent. People will usually see me smiling and sometimes with a serious face.


I am kind of tall. My height is 5,6. I am very skinny because sometimes I don't get to eat because I have a poor family like almost all families in District 12. I have skinny fingers and I have muscles and I am very strong but It isn't really noticeable. I also have very skinny legs but I'm not anorexic. My feet are kind of small. I am a size 8.

I am very fun and outgoing. I love hanging out with Nora, my best friend, Matthew, my boyfriend, and sometimes Rose, my sister. I am very serious and know when to be serious but I know how to have fun and make the best of life even though I don't have such a great life since my family is poor and I have no father. My mother says I am very smart and clever just like my father was. I always think before I speak and do things and I have been called wise by many people. I am also very kind, friendly, caring, and helpful because I don't think I can afford to be mean, unfriendly, not caring, lazy, and unhelpful.

Some flaws I have are that I can be very sensitive and sometimes too serious about certain things. I get in fights a lot because some kids make fun of me because of my looks. I am very overprotective of my sister and she gets annoyed a lot. I sometimes get depressed when I see other children with their fathers since mine is dead.


I never hold back with my personality and always be myself. Sometimes though, I can hold back a little and be too serious and depressed but then I see Matthew I feel okay. My mother always brings out the best in me though and she always lifts my cares away when I speak with her.

My father was caught trading food from the forest we aren't supposed to hunt in several times. He became an Avox and then became a crazy person. He was so crazy he found a clever way to kill himself. Now I only live with my mother, sister, dog, and myself of course in a very small, beat-up house.

My mother, Maya, cleans other people's houses, does their laundry, and assists the elderly. She is such a caring woman. My sister just cleans the house everyday and takes care of the dog. Four times a week I hang out with Matthew, who I met a week before my father became an Avox, and we help each other around the house. We are alike in so many, ways.

My mother is a very quiet women and never says much. We actually don't really say a lot of things in our house because we all know our job and all know what to do. We sometimes exchange glances with each other every once in a while and smile then do our own thing. Nora sometimes comes over to pick me up and we walk around town and talk. She only has her 20 year old brother to take care of her.

As a child I was always so merry and playful. My dad would always take me around town and explain to me what would happen when i grew up. He explained it in such a happy way. He always said "you will have a special job in the family and you will be very important. It will be fun. Trust me." Then, he had this look on his face that said, "It really won't".
