"come back here!" I say loudly to the green Luna moth as I chase it. This is the first time i've seen a real live Actias luna that wasn't in a book. I'm determined to get a look that's closer then just a few feet away. Even though they are one of the largest species of moths, the distance between me and it is too far for me to be satisfied on it's looks. I want to get closer and see it's elegance face to face.
There's something strange about it though, moths usually go towards light sources during the night. There are lots of screens right now; a light source for the moth. But this one has gone astray. Where was it going?
The moth finally takes a rest on a large window that displays t.v. screens. That's when I notice that it's showing scenes from old hunger games. These clips show highlights of the games during a high point in district three. It comes to a point where they show a little girl from our district a few years back fighting against a much larger boy. She charges at him and the other tribute tries to swing his sword at her. It misses though and the girl gets her opportunity to strike.
She leaps on to the large tribute and gouges his eyes out with her bare hands. What's worse is that I watch her rip his eyes out and that the boy is still alive and is in obvious pain. Lastly, the little hands of hers digs itself into the male tributes empty eye sockets causing more viscus fluids and blood to come out of the skull. I finally come to my senses and turn away at the horror of the scene. It's just so grotesque.
The screen then changes into a battle between two older girls in an arena made out of lava. I don't even want to look at it, so I turn my head away in disgust. A shiver runs down my spine and I'm about to walk home, but then that moth flutters pass me again. "H-Hey wait!" I call out to the butterfly, completely forgetting the violent scene I just saw.
It flutters further and it decides to take a rest on some person's shoulder. I can just ask for it! I walk up to behind that figure and ask politely. "Hello? Can I have that moth on your shoulder?"
