Lucas McKnight - District 2

Lucas is tall with short, dark brown hair and tanned skin. His left eye is blue, his right eye is grey (His mother was born with blue eyes & his father with grey). He has scars running up and down his body from rigorous military training. He is considered handsome by some in his district, although he does not believe it himself.
Lucas rarely pays attention to his appearance, but his hair is short enough that he usually doesn’t have to worry about that. He shaves regularly. He is well muscled and can stand his own against most of the people in District 2.

Lucas is quiet, yet full of rage at all times, which he mostly keeps to himself. He is often seen staring into mirrors for extended periods of time, since he considers his multi-colored eyes to be his only remaining reminder of his parents. This is seen as vain by those around him, but Enria stands up for him.
He is extremely protective of Enria, as he sees her as a younger version of his mother. He spends every waking hour worrying about her safety, and wonders what he would ever do without her. Needless to say, the two have developed a very close relationship.
Lucas hates the Capitol. During the last Reaping, he protested after one of his friends was drawn. He ended up with a black eye and bloody nose, but due to his connection to the Peacekeepers, he was let off with a warning.
He is not as competitive as most from District 2, which others see as a sign of weakness. Instead, he spends most of his free time (which isn’t much) studying and reading books, and being tutored by an older lady who was a friend of his mother. He has decided that if he ever were to participate in the Games, he would stay as far away from the Careers as possible. He naturally feels sorry for the lower districts, and wishes he could do something to help them, but he feels helpless himself.
He would never tell this to anyone, but he secretly hopes he would get drawn for the Games and therefore spare him the misery of District 2. He doubts he could win (even for Enria) and would be fine with dying in the Arena.

Both of Lucas’ parents died when he was 12. To this day he has no idea how they died. The Peacekeepers showed up to his house one day, gave him the news and left. He became the man of the house and took it upon himself to watch over his little sister, Enria. Lucas was told by the Capitol that he was going to be become a Peacekeeper, but through certain connections he was allowed to work in the Nut instead so he could watch over Enria. Due to being great with words, Lucas was able to talk himself out of many a dangerous situation. If he were anyone else, he may have been killed several times by now.
Lucas has struggled with his sexuality. Even though he is fancied by all of the young girls, he prefers boys. This further attributed to his rage, which he took out on the others around him. He did develop a crush on another boy from District 2, but the boy was sent away as a Peacekeeper to District 8 and was never seen again. This crushed Lucas. He secretly hopes to see the boy again.
At age 15, Lucas found out that he has an uncle in District 12. He longs to make the trip there, but has no idea how he can get outside the walls of 2 without becoming a Peacekeeper. This question lingers in his mind at all times.

His birthday falls on the Reaping this year, something that has not escaped his notice.
