There comes a moment in all of our lives that we must make a decision. As Dumbledore, the wise headmaster of J.K. Rowling's acclaimed Harry Potter series, said, "Soon we must all face the choice between what is right and what is easy." These words apply to us all, no matter where in the world we hail from. In the here and now, we live without borders and without countries but inspite of them. We live connected and together as one community who, though small, are one through common interest. Books or movies or shows alone do not bind us, but our spirits and our beliefs and our differences. Despite being so different from one another, we are one and the same. Because of this, there is something I must ask.
If we do not stand up for what we believe in,
then what is there to truly believe in?
If we do not fight for each other,
then what else can we fight for?
Here is the moment to make that decision between what is right and what is easy. It is easy to sit by the wayside and watch others suffer. It is easy to go about life as if there wasn't turmoil in other parts of the world. It is easy to forget what I am saying here. It is easy not to care.
It is right to stand up.
Please stand up. When the people of the world share one voice in a time of crisis, the governments of the world are forced to listen. Scream. Cry. Yell. Shout. Bawl. Yawp. Do anything. Just make a noise. Don't let those who need you most go on in their lives without hearing your voice. Don't let them be silenced. Be the megaphone for their anthem, their battlecry, their plea. Change starts with you and me, but it never ends. As long as there are people striving to make a difference in the world around them, there will be change.
It would be better for you to watch the video attached than to have me explain what I'm talking about. Take a moment out of your busy life to watch this. I have no doubts you'll understand where I'm coming from when all is said and done.
