Galaxy Exsaedia
I could scarcely believe my eyes as I took my first steps into the arena of the 56th Hunger Games. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I'd ever be here. Here, on the same ground Nash and Luyu and all of them once walked on. The arena is trapped in an eternal Autumn. It's messing me up, walking from Spring straight into Autumn. It's so beautiful here, though. I could just stand here and soak it all in forever, except...There's so much to see!
My mother tugs on my arm, yanking me out of my thoughts. She's as short as me, barely reaching five feet. "Galaxy, what should we see first?" She sounds so excited, just like a little kid. I thought I was the Hunger Games fanatic of the household, but it turns out Mom likes them almost as much as I do. She always used to complain about me watching the Games so much, but I guess she didn't actually mind that much.
This whole trip happened very suddenly. Mom and Dad woke me up and told me we were going on a trip. They told me pack, so I did. We've never gone on a trip together before, mostly because Dad is always busy with work. I kept asking them where we were going, but the wouldn't tell me. Not until we were on the way. I screamed when I found out. Quite loudly. Someone on the hovercraft we were riding had to tell me shut up five times before I actually listened. Apparently, Dad got a promotion at work. So this is how we're celebrating. Mom wanted to go to the 55th arena, and Dad wanted to go the 56th, so they used me as a tiebreaker. They both knew I had loved the 56th Games more than any of them. When they started, I got tattoos on my wrists of Topaz and Nash's names. I usually do this with my two favorite tributes of the Games, but I broke that tradition this year. I couldn't bear to get their names removed. I loved them both so much.
"Let's start at the cornucopia. That's the logical place to start, isn't it?" I link arms with Mom and start leading her there. Dad walks alongside us, a serious expression on his face as he studies the scenery. Finally, finally, I'm here. It's what I've always dreamed of. And Mom says that with Dad's promotion, we'll be able to visit the other arenas soon, too. This has been my dream for so long, and now, suddenly, finally, it is coming true.
