Home. Something that can be so close, yet so far away at the same time. Currently, Bryony technically didn't have a home to leave. Not that she couldn't have one if she wanted one, but she was so fed up with her family. They lived in District Ten as well, but even for her outgoing, flirty personality, she was still the forgotten one out of her siblings. For being nineteen years old, she was supposed to already be settled down with a nice boy, and trying to start a family by now. As if Bryony could hold a relationship long enough to start a family, anyhow. She went unnoticed by the rest of her family her entire life, because of her small stature. She was never the best in anything, other than flirting. Her sisters always had to top her in something, no matter what it was. Sports, school, work, relationships, etc. The list could go on for days, if necessary.
Dressed in ragged old jeans, and a tight flannel, the nineteen year old female, walked slowly through District Ten. She was on an adventure, however, where she was headed was the question. It was a little chilly to be walking around in her outfit, but she didn't mind the cold. The farm lands of her home just amazed her. Everywhere was slightly covered with a sickly, sweet white substance, but there wasn't very much of it. Snow, as most people called it, seemed to be following her as she walked, her cowboy boots leaving behind footprints. As a country girl at heart, Bryony seemed to be the innocent Southern girl she was raised up to be. However, if you dug past the first layer of her appearance, you would find the trouble maker inside of her. She wasn't one to fool you on who she was, but if you didn't pay attention to her, her trouble-maker side would sneak up on you in an instant.
Bryony had her own home, for the time being. Just a little ratty old building, complete with a working well. It was roomy enough for her small frame, but if she invited anyone over, her small home would be crowded. The small girl leaned on a fence nearby the small house to admire the fields around her. Who would want to leave these hills? she thought, her deep brown eyes scanning the horizon. The hills she was watching over seemed to roll, rather than stop and go like most hills did. It looked like a tinted green wave, covered with white dust, just rolling on forever. Yet, this not-so-darling daughter wished for more than the country. The Capitol was her dreams, hopes and wishes, even if she would never fit in up there. She just wanted to see the big city lights, flickering above her. Or even the multicolored hair styles many people wore. Or possibly dying her skin with ink, to represent some symbol she found meaningful.
