I. Basic Rules
II. Joining the Great Experiment
III. Cells and expected behavior
IV. Supplies, combat, and events
All rules outlined within the site are included in this plot. Do not do any irrational things like insult one another or some such.
Keep OOC chatter within this thread. It will serve as the mega thread for this plot, so there is no need to do OOC in the plot thread itself. Questions can be asked either in this thread or by PM to me and me only.
II. Joining the Great Experiment
So you want to join this, eh? Well good luck to you. Though your character will likely survive this, there is a small chance that they may die in some way. Remember that when you join this, and take heed of the warning in the first post. Some sort of scar, whether physical or psychological, is guaranteed by this test.
I want good quality posts. Not little snippets. I’m not a format snob, but if you can, please use the Block quote and size 1 combination. Much easier on the eyes. I also want constant activity in this plot; if one of the cells is left vacant due to inactivity, your character may be killed or taken out of the plot. I define inactivity as around 4-5 days with no posts in either thread without prior notice. Those that need to stop RPing or pause their RPing due to school or other issues, please message me beforehand.
Please try to keep your priorities straight when you join this. I don’t want anyone siphoning off time when they should be working on schoolwork to do this. Your real life should be a priority, so try to see what sort of time restrictions you have when you join.
If it was not made clear in the first post, there are 12 patients, one from each district, and six scientists/engineers/what-have-you. These are the spots open, and its first come, first serve. You can make new bios for this or use existing characters.
III. Cells and expected behavior
First and foremost, ‘The Great Experiment’ is a psychological experiment. Therefore, keep the thoughts, feelings, and behavior of your character in mind when you are in this experiment. Unless you’re a sociopath, you shouldn’t start attacking other characters unless you have desperate or justified circumstances. Try to find a middle ground between complete insanity and your normal state of mind; you are in a dangerous facility with no way out, trapped with eleven other ‘volunteers’, and your only consolation is that your Observers are not Gamemakers, so they won’t actively try to kill you. Maybe.
The description of each cell and mentioning of what psychological effects that each cell could have on the participant is meant as an assistant, but not as your full guideline of what your character could do. Be creative and fit the cell’s attributes to your needs, taking into account the personality, aggressiveness, desperateness, and other attributes your character may have in this experiment.
IV. Supplies, combat, and events
Essential supplies are food, water, clothing, and that sort of thing. If you want to ask me what could be construed as essential, you can PM me or ask me in the megathread. Every cell (except those specified as otherwise) gets supplies for seven days. This is enough to satisfy the needs of each person, though those from higher districts may feel a bit famished, while those from lower ones may feel a bit full, depending on background.
Combat is not dice-based. There really shouldn’t be any combat, but if there is, both people should PM me or mention it in the Megathread, and I’ll decide the fight results based on weapons, current state of being, and other variables which could be taken into account.
Events are announced by the speakers (shown on the map) by the Good Doctor Frederick. You should react to them in a logical way.
V. Posting
When you post, do it in the style of the hunger games. There'll be a big thread for the main testing area, where everyone can post and RP with other people there. When you're doing posts of you in your cell, please post it in the manner of the Hunger games, so for example 'Frederick Arocratus -- Day 1 [other cellmate]'. The last part can be omitted for those that do not have cellmates, or have not moved out of their cells. Please note that the testing area is fairly large, but individual fights there should be posted in the testing area mega-thread, not an individual thread.
A new day will be announced. Generally I'd like to let most people post, but once posts begin to peter out, I'll declare the new day. Please try to stay active.
