Ellea Channelle Banks
Eighteen years old. Ellea had finally reached her final year in school, her final year in the Reaping. This was it. If she could make it past this one Reaping, if she could be lucky enough to not be one of the names drawn out of the plastic bowl, she would free from the fear, and the pain, and the hurt. She didn't have any siblings to worry about; after this Reaping, Ellea and her family would have a weight lifted off of their shoulders. The brunette had feared three things throughout her life; the fear that she would be hated, the fear that she wouldn't make a difference in a single person's life, and the fear that she would be Reaped to enter the Hunger Games. The worst part was, this year was a Quell. Peculiarly, the twist had not been announced yet, so she doubted it had anything to do with the Reaping in anyway. She pondered the twist often, beyond curious as to what the Capitol has in store for the teens this time.
"Hey, Ellea, come over here!" a blonde haired girl shouted from the locker across from hers. A group of popular females of which Ellea had made acquaintance with were huddled in a circle, all giggling and twirling their hair. With a smile, Ellea walked over to them, and looked around in confusion. "Hey. What's going on?" She asked innocently, as her brown eyes twinkled. "Look at the boy over there. He's so gay, look at the way he walks." Ellea wasn't sure what to do. She could definitely see who they were talking about, a feminine boy who was actually kind of cute in a way. Should she speak up? Tell them that what they were doing was not okay, and they should shut up? Instead, Ellea did the worst thing she could possibly do. She laughed with them. He must have noticed the people laughing, because he lost his footing and tripped, crashing into a muscular guy. Ellea laughed even harder, but she didn't want to. She wanted to throw up. She wanted to walk over there and help him up. But she couldn't. She was frozen, unable to do anything but laugh and roll her eyes. And she felt absolutely terrible about it.
