“Rainbow lollipops and... thing thingy things” the words echoed around the empty building. the walls were 2 stories high,. A boy. Just a small boy, no older than 8, sat in the middle of the room singing the lyrics softly to himself, as he fiddled with something in his small hands. He never looked up from the object. It fascinated him. The texture. The smell. Oh boy the smell.. It smelt like freshly baked bread, soft and smooth in his hands. He knew what it was, but was too scared to eat it. He hadn’t liked how he had gotten it. But he ignored the thought, as he sang softly. Fumbling around with the small objected. The room was empty. Dark. It reminded the boy of the place where he watch his parents get buried. It was made of rotten wood, wood that let of a mouldy unwelcoming smell. Little shafts of light filter through the rotten planks, lighting up where the boy sat. Mumbling. Fumbling. If his sister found out how he had gotten this little piece of bread... he knew she wouldn’t be happy with him. He had risked a lot to get this little mound i his hands, but now felt to guilty to eat the bread, that was still warm. It made his mouth water.
“Just eat the bread, Numnuts!” half his brain screeched at him. “You’ve got it now, so fill that hollow belly- just eat that bloody bread!” it tempted losing its patients.
“No! Maxwell you are a god boy! now pass that bread to me, let me dispose of it!” the other half of my brain promoted, in a soothing voice as though if I just gave the bread to it they were all going to be alright.
“Don’t listen to that goody to shoes! You want to eat? You hungry? Then just eat the bread!” it scowled.
“Maxy you are a angel! Do you really want to destroy my repua- wait your reputation?” it asked kindly.
“Come on it’s easy! Just put the mouth watering bread to your mouth. Open letting the scent rush in causing you to bite and chew the delicious bread... oh yeah then swallow Dip shit!” it was really impatient now.
The boy took no notice of his raging thoughts. He was unsure if he was hearing things, or if someone was actually beside him telling him to eat the bread. He didn’t really care. He just kept rolling it over his fingers like it might magically change. Like he might feel it change. Well it was changing. But not in the way he would have liked it. It was cooling down, the warmth of the bread was fading and so was the lyrics that the boy was repeatedly singing. But he continued to stare wide eyed at the bread. What had him so intrigued? Why? But the bread looked like any normal bread. It was just bread.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
