Damage Calculator

The number in the white box corresponds to an attack and a numerical damage value (like the 9 damage you said), which is the damage that the character who made the post has done to the other character (the one they specified attacking.) Each character can take 40 damage total, so when they hit 40, they're considered incapacitated and soon to be dead.

There are also two other factors that affect damage in the Hunger Games: turn delay and training stations. Turn delay adds a damage point 3 turns after any "critical" or high-damage (6 or greater) attack and then every second turn after that (so turns 3, 5, 7, 9, etc.) Training stations add on 1 point per critical hit if the attacker is using the correct weapon (e.g. using a knife or sword after taking the blades station) or subtract 1 damage from critical hits if the defender has taken self-defense.
