Athena’s face is round. Her eyes have a grey shade with bright spots, which makes them look a little bit like they shine. Her eyes seem to be a bit too big for her face but that makes them only more expressive. Whenever someone offends Athena, her view turns into a glare. On the other hand, when Athena is happy, her eyes seem to shine even more, twinkling at the one who made her smile. When Athena concentrates, a slight crease forms between her curved and slender eyebrows and she starts biting her lips, a habit she also shows whenever she is unsure or embarrassed, even though she is not a girl to be embarrassed easily. Athena has long blonde hair that fall depending on the humidity in the air straight or in slight curls around her face and down to the middle of her back. She has one grey strand of hair falling down right next to the right side of her face. It has bugged her ever since, but hair dye is too expensive so she just has to live with it.

Athena is 5ft7' tall and weighs around 130 pounds even though she has never stood on a scale in her whole life. Practicing with her bow has given her arms defined but not too big muscles. Athena has bowlegs, which is the one thing about her body she absolutely hates. Because of this, she never wears skirts or shorts and is always seen with long pants. Her hands have a slightly blue shade because she works in a jeans factory after school. However hard she tries to scrub the blue color away, it never seems to fade.

Good Traits

Athena is a smart girl. She is among the best in her class, even though she doesn’t have to work hard to get good grades. She is very interested in Panem’s history, which is what classes mostly focus on. Well, she is not interested in the history of Panem as the Capitol would want her to, she is interested in the past rebellion and the reasons why it failed and how this could have been prevented. It is not easy to get this information, but since Athena is good in school, she was able to convince her teachers, that she had to get access to more books that told the story of the rebellion.
Athena is a great gardener. She has a small garden, where she grows all kinds of edible plants. Somehow it seems that all the plants she touches grow without any further help. She just seems to have a green thumb. All the plants she grows, she shares with her family and other families that don't have enough to eat.
Athena is a talented archer. Even though it is strictly forbidden, she trains with a self-made bow in the backyards of District Eight, always taking care, that she is not caught by the peacekeepers. Usually she has one of the other Olympians with her to stand guard. When using a bow and arrows, only Atremis is better than she is.

Bad Traits[/u]
For Athena, laws are more like guidelines, than actual rules. She knows that she can get in trouble for breaking the law, but she still ignores theses rules and breaks them all too often. She never got caught practicing with her bow of heading to the woods with Artemis, which would for sure result in a big punishment, but she did get caught when she was skipping school. Her parents were informed, but the real punishment was the extra hours she had to spend in school to clean the classrooms.
Athena is short-tempered and very easily offended. She can hold a grudge against somebody for a long time and she usually isn’t the one to make the first step, since she is very stubborn and not a person to admit that she was wrong.

Crafting is one of the things Athena really likes. Since her parents work hard and earn enough money to afford a living, she doesn’t have to work during her free time. Instead, she is often found crafting all kinds of things, like bracelets or even little baskets. The one thing she is very proud of, is her self-made bow. She keeps it well hidden underneath a loose wooden plank in her room’s floor and only takes it out when she wants to go practicing. Sometimes she is allowed to take some of the scrap pieces of jeans fabric from the factory and uses it to sew pants for herself, her family or her friends, but this is a rare thing.
The other thing Athena enjoys is gardening. She loves seeing new plants grow and turning from a mere seed to a big plant, which fruits can feed a family.

Dislikes[/u]
Ever since Athena found out that the Capitol and their Treaty of Treason was responsible for her sister Calliope’s death in the Hungergames, she hated the Capitol with a passion. For the same reason, she hates the Hungergames themselves. Even though she got lucky enough not to lose any more friends to these barbaric games, watching them causes her pain. She feels reminded of her sister whenever she sees the tributes fight for their lives and avoids watching the games whenever possible.
Being stubborn and self-confident, she doesn’t like it when others tell her what to do and what not to do. She wants to be in control of her life and not have others rule over her life. That too is a reason why she doesn’t like the Capitol.

Athena grew up in District Eight with her parents and her older sister. Her family was never rich but they had enough money to survive. Neither Athena nor her older sister Calliope had to suffer from hunger. When Athena was six, her older sister, only twelve at the time, got reaped and died in the Hunger Games. She was the youngest tribute that year and didn’t stand a chance. She died right at the Cornucopia in the bloodbath only a few minutes after the Games started. Even though Athena didn't understand at that time, why her sister died and who was responsible for this, she sure did once she got older. She still misses her older sister, because even though they were six years apart, the two sisters were very close. Losing Calliope to the Hungergames, was what caused Athena’s hatred towards the Capitol.

At the age of 11, they first heard about the rebellion that caused the Hungergames. The teachers told them how there was an uprising within the districts and how they wanted to overthrow the Capitol. While Athena wasn’t interested in the strange stories the Capitol constructed around this rebellion, she started to get interested in warfare and war tactics. Athena wanted to analyze the flaws of the past rebellion and thought about how to start a rebellion that was sure to succeed. As she got older, she fantasized about starting a rebellion, but she is smart enough not to do anything rash. Rebellions have to be planned wisely and have to be well thought through. She also knows, that there would be no point in doing anything on her own. That would just get her in trouble without doing anything good.

Athena met the other Olympians when she was 13 and became friends with them. She is usually the one to convince Zeus, that some of his actions are too rash and not well thought through. Even though he doesn’t listen to her all the time, she is at least sometimes able to talk him into not doing anything stupid. Ares is the one she is closest too, even though she is four years older than he is. She likes him, because he is a good fighter and smart about strategies just like herself. Athena is also close to Artemis. Athena learned a lot about bow hunting from her. Even with a lot of practice, Athena is still not quite as good as Artemis, but she is working hard, practicing in secret. Artemis also taught her how to make a bow, arrows and a quiver. Every once in a while, Athena joins Artemis when she goes out hunting in the woods, but they have to limit their trips to the woods so the Peacekeepers won’t become suspicious. Whenever Athena practices with her self-made bow, she takes one of the other Olympians with her to stand guard. Usually she is accompanied by Ares or Artemis, but sometimes she can also convince one of the others to join her.
