Fledger RellsIt was big and loud and crowded. People shouted at him, assumingly in adoration, though for what, Fledger didn't know. Getting Reaped? As if that took such skill. The Capitolites were mad. He'd barely been here a day, and he already knew that. They loved people they barely knew, and watched those same people die a few days later. They dyed their hair strange colors, and had markings all over their skin, not to mention the strange eye colors and gaudy make-up...no wonder the President kept the Districts in poverty. He probably couldn't stand more than one bunch of people looking so absurd.
Even the showers were absurd, something he was sure nearly all the tributes thought. They all probably had trouble with them, but whether or not they spent the time to actually figure them out was questionable. Fledger had refused to press random buttons and get showered by strange-smelling things, so he'd stood outside the shower as he tested the buttons. After about half an hour, the water had started to get cold and he'd figured out the right things to press to get the most normal-smelling soap and shampoo as he could. Everything seemed to be so complicated here. Though he'd been there only a short time, he was already yearning for the simplicity of home. There, he'd known exactly what to do and how to do it. There was no guessing or fussing around. It was easy, his life all laid out for him. Now, he questioned how much of a life he would have left.
His first day of training, Fledger's stomach roiled with butterflies. What would he say? What would he do? He wasn't sure he even wanted to talk to people at all. It wasn't as if he'd be allowed to ally with any of them. And it didn't make much sense to befriend people he'd only end up having to kill. But if someone came up to him, he didn't think he'd be able to stop himself from talking. That was what he did. He talked to people, tried to solve their problems. In this situation, however, he was sure that wasn't possible. They all had the same problem, and only one of them would find the solution.
Fledger wandered up to the Edible Plants station, thinking it would be useful to have some knowledge of plants. Unless the arena was a desert or wasteland with no life, there would be plants there of some sort. It would certainly be easier to try to find those rather than hunt. Honestly, he'd be doing enough hunting anyway.
