Name: Sapphire Farelain
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Sapphire will do anything to protect those she cares about, which is why she started training like a Career. Her little brother Ty had his name drawn a couple years ago and thankfully one of the Career boys volunteered in his place. She felt helpless. To fight off the feeling Sapphie promised that she would get stronger so that if her little sister or one of her friends in District 1 were ever chosen, she would be strong enough to volunteer in their place and hopefully survive the Hunger Games.
She's not delusionally. She knows full well from watching the Hunger Games for her whole life that it would never be an easy task, and she doesn't relish the thought of taking another life, but she doesn't want to leave her family. She doesn't want to think about what they would go through if she died.
Sure they had Alexander, her older brother whose in his early 20s, but her little sister Lucienne looks up to her and she doesn't want to let her down. So she trains with Alexander. He was of course reluctant at first to train her, he didn't want her to even think about going into the Games if she could avoid it, but Alexander knew her better than anyone, and he knew once she put her mind to something, there was no lurning back.
Every day Sapphire and Alexander go to the gym where the Careers practice, and Sapphire tries to familiarize herself with as many different weapons as she can. Daggers are fine, she can throw them pretty well. Swords are not really her thing but are not that complicated to use. She doesn't have the physical strength for some of the bigger weapons, axes, hammers, tridents.
Alexander was shocked and surprised when they found the weapon that seemed to most suit her. It was a long, metal chain that stretched about the length of her body, possibly a little longer than her 5'6" and had a long, very sharp blade on the end.
She wielded it like a pro, spinning it around her body with no thought of whether it would harm her or not. She never got a scratch. She would then whip it out and the blade would made a clean slice through whatever she had aimed at, and her aim improved every day.
