Mayen Wint D4

Mayen is the tallest girl in her class. Her positively astonishing height (6ft 2in) has always been a subject of wonder for her fellow classmates and astounded teachers as they watched her somehow increase in longitude day by day. This of course is illuminated by her dirty blonde hair which is hip-length and streams down her back, elongating her appearance. She thinks it makes her look child-like and juvinielle. Her mother of course disagrees. Mayen's eyes are chocolate brown with a surprising fleck of hazel and are her most attractive, inticing attribute. Her lips are an odd shade of peach and arguable thinner than what is regarded as 'attractive' and so make her face seem almost out of proportion with her button nose and full eyebrows (several shades darker than her hair colour). She has a slight tan, although nothing too appealing, and has slight freckles around her nose, most likely from when she is forced into the sunlight to be trained up as a fisherman. She is an average weight when considering her height (12st) but a lifetime adoration of raspberry pie has put a toll on her waist line and puts her out of place of her other 'supermodel thin' class mates.

Mayen has no passion for clothes of any sort, and so wears whatever her mother provides for her on a daily basis. This usually consists of black or khaki courdory trousers and a comfortable blue-knit jumper (or cotton t-shirt during the hotter seasons). Her one must have item is her working boots with laces up to her calf and are constructed of sturdy, brown leather. These were a gift from her brother. Her fingernails are trimmed short to avoid disruption or breakage whilst preparing her fishing line. The kept manner of her fingernails has created an illusion of short, stumpy fingers, which seems strange regarding her height. Her legs last a lifetime and resemble skyscrapers in the Capitol. Boys in her class often joke about how attractive they would be on a 'prettier' girl and what a waste Mayen makes of them. Mayen of course chooses to ignore such comments.

Mayen has a severe case of selective-deafness. That is, she chooses what she wants to hear and what she prefers to block out. This is in some cases a useful tool, especially when vicious comments are passed her way regarding her apperance or ruthlessness. To close friends (all 2 of them), or family, Mayen is a polite young woman who is loyal and always truthful to a conceivable extent. Lying (and liars) is her pet peeve and immedietly disposes of anyone from her life who she perceves as 'distrustful' or 'complusively untruthful', she has no time in her life for those sorts of people. She is also good-natured, especially with animals, and will go to all lengths to help them. However, to everyone else she stays away from them, hoping they will not notice she is there (although her height cannot be sure of this) and is cnsiderbaly stubborn towards anyone who attempts to place a valid argument with them.

There has been speculations as to whether Mayen is bi-polar over the years. The main concerns have been her expressive polar opposite behaviours (curled up in bed one day, frolicking in fields the next) and her strange obsessive behaviour. Although experts in this field say it's nothing, they argue her lack of a social life could be having a major impact on her behaviour. However, as previously mentioned, her polite attributes are to be honoured and proud of, and so after many-a-row, her parents dropped the idea and burried it for dead, although it will always be a concern for them.

She has a secret, hidden talent for creation and drawing, and often spends her hours in the classroom doodling on work-sheets about various bait, creating indescribable images and bursts of colour. Her teacher is usually not amused by this and often scoffs at her 'This is a fishing district Wint, not the Capitol drawing board.'

Mayen's father (Sebastian) is a fisherman, whilst her mother (Alixran) owns a seafood cafe which is becoming slowly famous for her oyster stew and prawn cocktails. They are a dedicated, well-off couple who have lived together for 20 years. Their first child (Perantha) was born to them merely 2 years after they had met, out of wedlock, and proved the village wrong about her academic abilities. She now has passed her way into district 3 (a rarity) after proving she had a raw talent for conducting machinery and technology. Their next child (Herwand) was born 4 years after that. He still lives with his family and is unemployed, heavily relying on his parents for financial support. His reasoning for his unemployment is that he is too ill to work (suffers from random fainting) and cannot perform to the standards district 4 expects. Sebastian and Alixran then married 10 years into their relationship and soon Mayen was born. Their whole family have always been fortunate to have the odds in their favour.

Mayen's parents want the best for her, and aspire her to follow the footsteps of Perantha. But Mayen has become tired and frustrated of the over-shadowing of her sisters glory and wants far more than that. Mayen wants to become a game-maker in the hunger games and let her secretive creative juices flow. She knows that she surely would be banished from her community and home, but hopes that one day her family will understand her authority and power. She has no idea how to get into the Capitol, but hopes to somehow talk to someone during the next reaping, assuming there will be someone important there. She has no desire to have anything to do with the fishing industry, and dispises her districts speciality (catching fish all day is a bore). She dreams of the power that the Capitol can provide and wants to move forward in technology and modernise other districts.

At the mere age of 15, Mayen has had no love interests and does not intend to. She isn't even aware if he has a sexuality. Her interests in love, marriage and children are non-existent and as far as she is concerned not of any importance. Her brother however, her favourite sibling, has had many a girlfriend who always provide Mayen with a sister that she never had. Currently, he has no female company.
