Appearance:
A little taller than most girls her age, Arowana is about 5’9” and weighs 150 lbs. She spends a good bit of time weaving flowers into her hair just to be a bit different. She has green eyes with a few brown specks in them, and they complement a tan she received from fishing a lot. Her mouth is a bit too wide for her face, and appears even wider because she spends a lot of time smiling.Personality:
Arowana is pretty fit, spending a lot of her time exercising and helping her father on the boat. She has a large birthmark on her right thigh that she tries to cover up with her dresses. She also has a freckle on her neck that she’s not quite sure whether she likes or dislikes. Arowana wears dresses that are springy colors, and she tries to convey her happiness through her wardrobe. Arowana is a pretty girl, all in all, though not the prettiest.
She does seem to find favor with boys, though not like the girls who are considerably prettier than her. Arowana occasionally uses a bit of makeup, but ultimately she is happy enough with how she looks and doesn’t want to put unnatural things on her face, anyway.
Arowana is a basically happy girl. She spends most of her days with her father on the boat, helping him whenever he needs it. She loves being on the water, and is even pretty good at fishing. She also rather enjoys being in her mother’s garden, helping her tend to the plants. She has lived a well life, tinted only with the tragic loss of her older brother, Erik, who was killed in the 53th Hunger Games.History:
Arowana has radical views, believing that the Games are wrong, and that the Capitol is evil. She does not partake in training for the Hunger Games, but she is also fairly confident she won’t be called, as she does not apply for the tesserae. She doesn’t think she could survive in the Games because she has a deep phobia of snakes, and the Gamemakers would surely throw her into a pit or something.
Arowana is very emotional, and cries at almost every death in the Games. She is particularly saddened by the deaths of people from her own district, especially the ones who look a bit like her brother. She usually closes her eyes and counts during the Games to distract her. Arowana is very peaceable and probably wouldn’t be capable of violence even if it was necessary for her survival.
Arowana was born into an upper-middle class family. They lived comfortably, though not luxuriously. Her mother sewed and created dresses based on patterns Arowana created, and her father worked on water, fishing and even opened up a small fish market. Arowana spent a lot of her free time studying music. She loved singing, and taught herself how to play piano at the governor’s house. She was a charmer only when she was singing or playing. Her family always loved to listen to her, and she even taught a few of her friends how to play.Codeword: oDair
When Erik died, she was 9. Erik had entered the Games when he was 15 and only survived for four days. Her parents had never had a bad word to say about the Capitol or the Hunger Games until he died. She knew they never liked the situation, but they remained silent. On the day of his death, Arowana watched as her mother fell to her knees and screamed in agony. She cried, too, but not until the winner was announced and she realized that Erik wouldn’t walk through their door. Arowana was sat down by her parents and explained to about why the Hunger Games were wrong, and that the Capitol was evil. She once told a boy about this, but his parents pulled him away and Arowana was told that she could never tell her views about the Capitol or the Games.
Arowana had one real boyfriend in her life – Salen, who was only a year older than her. Salen had made Arowana forget all about her brother’s death, and he made her happy. However, Salen didn’t last long. Arowana was, for at least the time being, a free spirit and she had to let him go. She just as soon went back to her normal days of helping her mother and father. She continued to do pretty well in school, though her true passion would remain music.
