Vala has dark brown hair that is usually wet and surely, along with eyes that are blue. She is well built from her time fishing in harsh conditions, giving her stung legs, and strong arms from canoeing and the like as well. She stands about 5'9" and weighs 130 pounds approximately. While she has time to worry about hygiene most of her attempts to look nice are countered by the waters where she lives making her a damp tangle with a salty smell.

She tries to where water proof clothing most of the time though when not near water she has on nothing more than a simple button down shirt and pants that can be turned into shorts. She is not one for formal attire, viewing it hindering and impractical. Her posture is stiff and secure her balance unshifting as she is used to the tides. This gives her the appearance of a calm and brave person.

Vala is a girl who enjoys living out in the open air. She is the oldest of 2 so she decided to help her parents out and take up fishing to feed the family. She is skilled at tracking, hunting and identifying aquatic life, though less so on land. She is very relaxed and never looses focus or temper.

Vala cares for her friends and family and is fed well so she is lax about it. Unlike a lot of the other people her age she does not train for tribute actively though she worries it may happen to her. It will not be to drastic however as her parent can easily take care of her family.

She is kind to others and is charitable when necessary. When she is not off fishing or in school she might be hiking, or something else. Other than that she will probably not be doing any thing else. She puts her family above her self and will sacrifice her life for theirs.

Vala grew up an average member of the fishing district. Not spoiled, and not starved she learned to enjoy her life as a fisher woman and became good at it in no time. She and her brother whom is younger only by one year both trained in the ways of the fisherman though she had much more of a back. Her brother demonstrating qualities that are best suited for some on from another district.

Other than her great performances that developed her into a great and independent fisher she, leads a normal life in school and does not catch the eye as anything special. At least not in her mind any way. She never really bothered with making friends and spends most of her time in solitude thinking away while doing her job.

Now she does the fishing for 3 different families including her own, only needing company when bad weather is around though she still manages to go out for the catch on those days as well. She never had the need to apply for any extra food in exchange for the games so she is pretty confident of her safety.
