Age: 15
Gender: Female
District/Area: District 4
Appearance:
Appearance: Naia is strikingly beautiful, but not in the carefree, beach-blond way. Her angular face and her sharp, angled brown eyes form a look of cruel, untouchable perfection. She has full red lips that on occasion are pulled into a frown, but are otherwise expressionless. Her eyebrows curve elegantly over her browbone, and she never bothers with plucking them. Naia posesses long, brown hair, which comes down to her lower back. One of her biggest insecurities is the ugly freckle that forms an extremely repulsive brown "poop lump" on her wrist.Personality:
Naia is quite tall for her age and has long, slightly muscular legs. She is usually seen wearing nice clothes that are a little more on the expensive side. Naia is very slim as well, and is very proud of her weight. She might be described as willowy. Naia's nose is on the small side, but otherwise doesn't have anything remarkable about it that adds to her features.
Naia is extremely quiet, but not in the small, shy, vulnerable way. She radiates power, not fear. She prefers to watch the world around her and is very cautious. Being extremely light-footed and flexible, Naia is good at moving unnoticed through crowds and as a result is very capable of stealing things. She doesn't do this a lot- in fact, she tries no to do it at all, but why let a talent go to waste? Her eyes flicker with fire, and her soul is encased in ice.History:
Naia is very smart, and analyzes everything around her. She sees things from a scientific point of view. Naia's cleverness has caused her to have a grim perception of the world. Is there such thing as love, or just the instinct to reproduce? Does friendship exist, or is it just a disposable means of support and survival? Naia struggles with making sense of the intangible world. She does not belive in compassion or in any emotions. There is only the brain telling the body that is happy or not in relation to survival.
Naia is friendly to those she cares about, but anyone she is not familiar with is faced with her cold, judging gaze. She doesn't talk much to those she doesn't know, especially to males. Naia is disgusted with boys and believes they are disgusting, preverted creatures. This is not to say she does not fall in love, but it is very rare for Naia to love any boy. She hides her heart behind her indifferent expression and infinite silence. People like to joke that her only known fear is of gaining weight.
Naia has a completely different side to her personality. She jokes around a lot with her close friends and is pretty funny when she wants to be. She is actually very free spirited and imaginative, as well. Naia enjoys running and runs a lot in her free time. She enjoys the quiet intimacy that she feels when she is immersed in nature, so she spends a lot of her running time in the woods. By far, Naia's favorite thing is to swim. She weaves elegantly through water, as though she were some sort of human-fish hybrid, and often fantasizes that she is secretly a mermaid. Marine life fascinates Naia, and, unfortunately, she hates fishing. It is common practice in her district, but Naia tries to avoid fishing as much as possible. Luckily for her, her family is on the wealthier side of the district and she doesn't have to fish a lot.
Naia was quite happy when she was young. She had a loving family and all the things she needed. She wasn't dirt poor, and had a little more money than her peers. She wasn't rich, either, but Naia didn't want anything more. As Naia got older, she became a tomboy and preached that she hated "Girly girls". She refused to befriend the girls in her classes and hung out with boys instead. However, Naia quickly fell out of love with the side she had chosen. She has a good friend named Jon who found it absolutely necessary to discuss anything vulgar in depth. Naia would just laugh along, not completely realizing what she was hearing, being only twelve. Jon invited Naia to his house after school one day, something he did quite often, and Naia walked to his house with him. Jon invited Naia up into his tree house and she happily complied- the tree house was fun! Once up the ladder, Jon sat down and got a very serious look in his eye. He sighed and rubbed his hair as if in embarassment.Codeword: ODAIR
"Naia," he began. "I... uh- we're best friends right?"
"Of course," Naia replied, smiling warmly.
"Do you.. like me? Like as.." Jon trailed off, suddenly gazing at her intensely.
"Uh... hah. Nooo." Naia choked out awkwardly. She didn't like where this was going one bit.
Apparantly, neither did Jon. He glared at her. "I'm serious."
Naia laughed again, at which point Jon made a small, infuriated sound and lunged at her, grabbing her neck. He lifted her chin up until she was looking him in the eye.
"Listen," he hissed. "You are gonna do what I tell you, or you'll be sorry."
Naia gasped in outrage, realizing the implications, and swiftly kneed him in the crotch, surprising herself and Jon. Before he could do anything else, Naia got up and towards home, not slowing down until she was ready to vomit.
When Naia entered seventh grade she realized something that bothered her: she was a loser who hung out with boys. The other girls would snicker as they passed, glancing at her casual T-shirt and baggy jeans. So she changed. It was so simple for her, after watching and analyzing her surroundings for so long. Naia started to care about her hair, wore nice clothes, and applied the proper social skills to befriend the right people. It hadn't even been difficult. It took a long time for the girls to warm up to her, but Naia knew what she was doing and was soon strutting around with the "Popular bi*****" Funny how all her wprst features became something to admire in the eyes of her peers, once her existence actually mattered.
Once Naia hit her thirteenth birthday, she started realizing just how disappointing the world was. She had an adorable two-year old sister and happy parents, but somehow everything was suddenly darker. After her troubled past relationships, she learned just how greedy and pathetic human beings were. She started questioning what happiness was, if friendship existed, and other things. Her friends were the same people who were laughing at her just a year ago, when she had been an unpopular nothing. Were they really that materialistic that they would all flock to her as soon as they felt that Naia could make them look better? That was when she realized what the world was.
A few months into highschool Naia met James. Naturally, Naia distrusted James, who she though was a complete nerd and a typical, disgusting boy. But Naia got to know James better and soon found herself incapable of putting off an air of cold indifference around him. Somehow she knew James was always telling her the truth, and he got how materialistic everyone else was. They agreed on almost everything, except taste in food. It wasn't long before they started dating. Naia felt as if she'd finally found happiness, and pitied all her friends, who would never know the love she knew. James was her perfect match, Naia just knew it. But, of course, Naia was just to aware of her surroundings for her own good. She felt James pulling away from her and became suspicious. Naia went to James' house with the excuse of giving him a fake gift. He was supposed to be working on a science project with his tall, blond, georgeous scince partner. Naia slipped inside quietly- James always left his door unlocked- and stumbled upon james and her involved in something... not sciency.
"What is wrong with you?!" She screeched. "James! Tell me what the hell is going on."
James jumped away from her in surprise, but leaned against the wall and grinned when he saw Naia.
"Hey."
His eyes laughed at her, mocking her. He didn't even feel remorse. Naia's face went slack and she sprinted outside before he could see her tears. Even in her confusion, Naia had a clear though in her head.
I don't love anyone. I will never love again
Two weeks later, James committed suicide.

I hope this isn't coming off as a Mary Sue... Naia's name being similar to mine is pure coincidence.
