Personality:
Maple's light, natural red hair flows down to her back. Many people think her red hair is fake, but I can assure you it's natural. It is not thick hair, but isn't thin either. Her eyebrows are somewhat pointed, but not that thick.
Maple's skin is extremely pale, almost as if she was a ghost. People say it's because she never got to see the sunlight, as she was stuck inside working all day.
Her figure is thin, because she is still catching up with her weight as she rarely got fed at her old home. But, she is fit because her old parents would make her train as a career when she wasn't cleaning the house.
Her eyes are shaped like almonds, and her nose is described as a button.
(m = metaphor, as this character is for all around the world plot)History:
Maple is a shy girl (m= small population). Her only friends are her family (m = provinces). Although, she'll fight for her rights (m= war) and win peacefully. Of course, she never tried to fight against the capitol because she knew that she would never over rule.
She has hated the Hunger Games ever since she knew what it actually was all about. When it was time for her for reaping, she couldn't help but break down and cry. You can call her emotional.
Maple is modest, and respectful. She'll often point out ones good traits, to make them feel happy. She tries to be as respectful as possible to ones opinion.
Maple's parents disliked each other, so they took it out on Maple. They made her clean, train to be a career, and other stuff I'd rather not mention. She was treated like a slave, or she was one. She was never den enough, and was lucky to get one meal a day. She never went to school, and was never educated.Codeword: Odair
The neighbors once walked into their house while her father was giving her a beating. The neighbor left in shock, and since then has been sneaking Maple over to their house so she could eat and sleep. Her parents found out, and beat her in public in front of peacekeepers. The peacekeepers saw them beating her, and gave them many whippings. They didn't survive it.
Maple's neighbors offered to take care of Maple, and she gladly accepted. She was fed enough, and was educated a lot. She loved school. She was given a laptop and a person to help her, as she was a special student.
Now for the metaphors of this article. When Maple was at her birth parent's house, she worked as a slave. This is a metaphor for when the black people were forced to slavery in America. When Maple started making trips to her neighbor's for food, this is a metaphor for the Underground Railway, an underground path where the Canadian's led the slaves to freedom in Canada. When the peacekeeper's whipped her parents and they died, is a metaphor for the Civil war. And when finally Maple started living in her neighbor's house, is a metaphor for reaching Canada and free from slavery.
