Arcadia 'Cady' London, District 2 (tribute)

Arcadia London has been called everything from beautiful to hideous to alien. Her looks are subject to many discussions, as she is so unusual. A Career, Cady doesn't look much like it--her willowy, skinny body clothed by porcelain-white skin, with minimal scars and signs of the brutal life she has endured. She does not look like what so many would think a healthy, young girl from District 2 should look like--instead of well-fed and groomed, she instead is underweight and her grooming goes as far as splashing water on her face. Speaking of her face, here lies the root of why so many people would pause before telling you if shes gorgeous or ugly. Unusual, big doe eyes sit in the middle of an innocent face--colored baby-blue to help her, 'image.' They're wide and curious looking, masking the true nature of this smiling angel-faced Career Girl. A medium to large sized nose sits square in the middle, nothing to be looked at too closely as there really is nothing interesting about it. Beneath the said nose, is a pout-styled mouth, big lips, so pink and pretty color. Just so if you ever think you see her, heres an unusual thing about her, on her left cheek there is a thin line as though somebody pressed a knife to her face. Well somebody did, her father to be exact and now Arcadia is often found wearing make-up to disguise the gruesome cut. Surrounding her face is a golden halo of honey colored hair. Its layered and styled--making it obvious that Cady puts a little of her time into it between getting beaten by her dad and trying to bargain for extra food. At its longest, it barely touches her shoulders as her father would just rip it out if it got any longer. The young lady allows herself only the pleasure of her luscious, soft hair--ignoring the rest of her looks. Thankfully for her, Arcadia doesn't have much to worry about as far as her flawless porcelain skin goes, or her flawless, graceful body. Her father is careful to keep any bruises or scrapes he may give her, out of the publics view--preferring to keep the destruction to her lower back and rib-cages.

Cady isn't really a socialite. She keeps to herself, and often when her class-mates are paired up to complete an assignment, Arcadia is left to finish her work alone. She doesn't mind, as far as shes concerned school doesn't really matter. The teen is naturally brilliant when it comes to herbs and healing--thankfully for her, in District 2 this makes up for her poor grades in most every class she brands, 'useless.'(this being a lot of classes by the way) Cady is a girl who might have been delicate and dreamy if she hadn't been raised otherwise. Her father has trained Arcadia to be in the Hunger Games for years. The only thats kept her from being entered at a younger age is her fathers cruel mind--he knows she would have a better chance when she was older. Arcadia is a cunning girl, but not because her father made her so, but instead because her only way to express herself was to disobey the said man who raised her. Cady has learned to play mental-games, tormenting the man she must call father with little things--tapping her foot constantly, staring at him while he tries to sleep, things that set him on edge. Arcadia is also a master of the shadows, she is slightly clumsy, but her height has not stopped her from playing a number of pranks on people in the dark, and sneaking out during the night. Shes somewhat tortured though, as the man whose taught her to be ruthless and unfeeling is a strategic man, who knows that the more she defies him, the more skills she learns (silence, control, observant) Anything Cady does seems to fall right into his plans, and for that she has grown slightly insane, comforted only by her own lying, cheating, dirty mind. Cady is intelligent, but not when it comes to books, shes street-smart, able to talk herself out of a mess and somehow blame it on an innocent little girl or something. Her life has been like an Arena in which she has always performed for her father, and if she fails to... must suffer the consequences. Arcadia is a very collected person, as she must keep anything she feels to herself, and has become a rather silent predator.

Arcadia wasn't born. She was designed. A pretty girl named Nara Hunt, daughter to a ruthless man at age seventeen committed a crime against her controlling, evil father when she fell in love with London. London was seventeen too, and like Nara had a very controlled childhood, the two fell madly in love and Nara became pregnant. For three months she was pregnant till the Reaping arrived, and London volunteered to be the male tribute for District 2. Nara was heart-broken when London died and fell into a depression, unaware of any of the men of her families plans. She was watched until she gave birth, and the child came to know her grandfather as, 'Father.' London was never spoke of, although Nara would often whisper to her daughter, Arcadia, that her last name was London. For years Nara her child safe, but she had no power against the training. Cady London became a Career, taught by her father the ways of a knife, a bow, hand-to-hand combat (something she nearly always is beaten in as shes too thin and unpowerful) and running. Her, 'hobbies,' were medicine and climbing trees, things her mother had turned into something fun for Cady to do, and also approved of by her insane grandfather as, 'useful skills.' Arcadia until eleven had been a smiley, friendly girl, simply taking her training as something like school, but when Father discovered she was so emotionally attached to people, he made sure Arcadia was, 'taught,' to avoid people. The girl had no choice--and continued on, not really caring until she turned sixteen. Nara Hunt, somehow overheard her father and her old lovers father taking about the arranged love between her. Nara discovered London had been forced to woo her, in order to give birth to a strong, healthy child designed to win the Hunger Games. Nara could no longer look at her child the same way for she knew no matter what she did, Arcadia would always be, 'Fathers,' never hers. That same week she killed herself. Life went on, and soon the Reaping was upon them, Father told Cady she was ready for the Hunger Games, a skilled Career who had given up her friends, her hobbies, and her mother to get a chance to participate in the Games. Cady London, a deceiving, evil, two-faced girl has finally been allowed to enter an Arena and fight to the death. Yay for her.

Cady isn't really a person, shes more of her Fathers Minion, although she plans on making an announcement on live TV, (if she gets far enough) that shes always hated her Father, and will prob. play the 'wounded puppy standing up for herself finally,' card. Cady isnt an emotional person, she simply doesn't care about anyone or thing.
