Hutton Kappa
“Watch your tongue, boy! Do you understand? There’s not to be a word about this to anyone!” My father said; held me by the collar of my shirt against the wall. The awkward hold on him didn’t make Hutton feel comfortable, and to tell the truth Hutton was petrified by the man. “Yes, sir!” Hutton squeal, his voice gone high in fear.
The memory kept haunting Hutton, in his sleep, even in his awake. What happen that night Hutton would never forget, ever. His father was a monster. His father didn’t deserve to be thought about or remembered. He was the devil. Hutton just needed something to distract himself, that’s all he thought, taking deep breathes, and this was very calming. Staying calm was the key to staying sane, he thought, and he wanted to stay sane. Who wouldn’t?
Dropping out of school early to get a full time job wasn’t something that you usually saw in district eight. But being at school wasn’t helping Hutton either. All the memories that haunted him invaded him when he was at school. Everything, the people, the surroundings, all of it, Hutton couldn’t handle it and dropped out finding a job at the shearing farm a couple miles down the road. The money wasn’t the best but at least it was something. It helped keep his family alive.
Slowly, Hutton’s thoughts began to resurface to the present. He found himself wandering aimlessly down a quiet street. In fact once Hutton found himself thinking about it, it might of been to quiet. He looked around. He was the only one out and about. The more he thought about it the more uncomfortable he began to feel. The more the memories of his past came to haunt him. I have to get away from here, he thought desperately to himself. Breathing fast and heavily, Hutton quicken his pace until he was practically running. He was so caught up in his thoughts and trying to escape his past he hardly noticed that he had walked right into someone,
