My given name is Jeanette Miles
But some call me Jean. If they're annoying, they'll use the name "Jeanie". But seriously. Call me Jean.
I'm 18 years of age, born on July 1st.
I'm most definitely a female. No, I'm not going to prove it to you, pervert.
I reside in District 10.
Appearance
I'm tall. Sure, it's annoying when I hit my head on the low ceilings in my house, but I personally like towering over almost all of the girls in my district. You see, I'm actually 6'0, so I'd be tall even if I was a guy. But I'm not a guy, so they're even more intimidated. At least, they should be. I can almost see their shadows fleeing when I tower over their heads, and I like it that way.
I'm pretty thin for my height. I'm about 145, but since I'm tall, it evens out... somewhat. It's not like I look hefty or anything. I mean, sure. I'm heavier than others. But they're shorter than me, so it all evens out.
Moving onto my hair. It's long, and usually tied in a long ponytail that reaches the middle of my back. It's a dark brown color, similar to the old chocolates in the sweet shoppe in District 10, like dark chocolate.
My eyes aren't beautiful. They're dull and brown, with a hint of grey. They've grown to be hardened and cold - looking suspiciously at everybody who glances in my direction. Oftentimes, they're overshadowed by my eyelashes, which are somewhat long and curly. I've heard Capitol women want their lashes to be as long and curly as possible. But who really cares? It's better to be unnoticed than to be looked at by disgusting men.
My teeth are white, and in good health. Of course, I hardly ever smile. I'm not one who likes to show off anything of mine often, even if it's as innocent as white teeth.
I could be considered to be a muscular person. I mean, you can't really see them bulging out like a muscle-man, they're small. I can definitely pack a lot in a punch, which I give out freely. So don't get on my bad side.
I have a long scar on my neck. You see, it's a rather long story. But it all ended with me being knocked up and bloodied on the street. So it's hopefully obvious as to what happened. I remember that there was just... So much blood...
Personality
--starts 3rd person--
If other residents of District 10 had to describe Jeanette, they'd use the word cold. It vibrates from her very being, from the icy glares she freely gives out, to the sharp voice that emanates from her scowling mouth. She could be considered to be somebody who's just not a people person. But that's a large understatement. She hates most people. In fact, she blames them for her misfortunes.
She's violent as well. If a stranger were to get her crossed, they'd find themselves meeting her fist in a non-friendly manner. She's quick to anger, and the fire doesn't cool down easily. You better run if she's furious at you, for you won't last long if you just stay standing there.
But to her family, she's a dedicated, responsible human being. She gets stellar grades, as she's aiming to help her family in any way she can. She'll take any job in order to help her family. In that sense, she doesn't want her family to suffer at all, which explains why she's so overprotective towards her sister Melinda.
But deep down in her soul, she's kind. She used to be friendly to many; she made friends, had fun... Then the incident occurred.
She's generous though. She likes to help kids, and make them smile. She knows that by accomplishing her dream, she'll be able to make this come true. Hopefully.
Jeanette's dream is far-fetched. She hides this from everyone she knows, because they'll all laugh at her. You see, she's very sensitive - she just doesn't like to show it. But secretly, Jeanette would love to open up her own chocolate shoppe.
But she doesn't let anybody know about this. She even goes so far as to tell her sister to stop dreaming. She knows that dreaming can lead to heart-ache, and she doesn't want that to happen to her little Melinda. But it's hard to let go of a dream.
History
Jeanette Miles was born on a hot, sticky July evening. It was not a pretty birth, but when her mother saw her baby, she fell in love.
Jeanette grew up being the second oldest of five siblings. She always felt a special connection between her sister, Melina and herself. She tended to take care of her more so than her parents, who were extremely busy working to get money to put dinner on the table.
Despite taking care of her sibling, Jeanette was never without friends. She easily became popular due to her high grades and outgoing personality. She was technically the "popular girl" during her reign at school. From 6th - 10th grade, she was well-known, both famously and infamously.
She began to spend time with friends after school. They were all well-off, so she spent a good amount of time at the local chocolate shoppe. She was just... amazed at the wonderful sweets that the owner made so perfectly. And she knew that she wanted to be just like her when she grew up.
But then, when she was 16 years old, the incident occurred. She was walking home from her job one night. The streets were crowded, for there was a battle between the D10 tribute and the pending D12 victor. So she took a different way towards home. But she didn't know that somebody had been following her. She was too busy thinking about her future chocolate shoppe.
A shove. A scream. Blood.
She was pregnant. A trip to the doctor's two months later confirmed it. Her stable rung on the school hierarchy crumbled. She stopped trusting people, especially males. In fact, she grew to hate them with a passion. It was their fault that she was stuck with a baby.
She put the past behind her though, when she realized that she could help this child. She'd be able to nurture it to its full potential. He or she would become successful. So she ate right, she exercised, her mood improved.
But the baby was born a stillborn. Her dreams to have a successful child were crushed. She stopped her carefree mood completely. She became hardened and angry.
She wanted revenge, but she didn't know who had done the deed. So instead, she decided to get stronger, so she could kill the next person who'd try to injure her or her family in any way possible.
And she still lives like this: A strong, lonely, angry teenager who just wants her family to be safe.
