Anansi Shaolin Milagro ~ D10

To begin with, we’ll start with a general overview of Anansi. He is 5’10” and 155 pounds. While not ripped, he has definite muscle definition. Being from District 10, he has little excess body fat. His family is one of the richer ones, but they still don’t have much to spare. The most unusual thing about Anansi is that he is deaf. He was born this way. However, with lots of coaching from his parents, he is able to speak, but has no way of knowing what anyone else is saying. His skin is extremely tanned from being outside all day.

First off, we’re going to start with his head. He has hair that is very long and black as a moonless night. He keeps it messy and dreadlocked. When it is dreadlocked, it reaches down to the bottom of his shoulder blades. His eyes are the next thing on the list. His eyes are a piercing ice blue color. Because of his unusual eye color and serious demeanor, people tend to avert their eyes when he looks at them.

Next, we’ll move on to his torso. He has long arms, slightly longer than average, with large hands. This comes in handy working on the farm. His chest has definition and has a long cut that is raised up and a whitish color. His triceps are well defined. His stomach is a definite six-pack and he loves it. Mostly seen wearing a white t-shirt, and sometimes his sleeveless leather jacket when he goes into town. The jacket is black and has fringed sleeves and a red cross stitched in the back of it.

Now, to his lower body. His legs are big, which is used to his advantage working on his parents’ ranch and when he pulls stuff around. He does jump around a lot and has a vertical. His vertical jump is of easily 35 inches, though he’s never measured it.

Anansi is very gentle, yet he is outgoing. At 5’10”, he doesn’t look it, but he is very commanding. He uses his command to take control of animals and situations on the farm. He is caring and nice to his family. He is usually solemn and doesn’t talk much, at least not by mouth. He does sign a lot to his family, but when out and about, he carries a pad of paper and a pen so he can understand what is being said. He is very observant and will happily take directions. He is a hardworking person, who is honest and dependable. He is mature beyond his age and loves life, because he doesn’t think being deaf is a disability, it’s just his life and he’s going to live it to the fullest.

Now on the other hand, he does have some negative traits. Anansi is sometimes thought rude by people who talk to him without getting his attention or someone who has just met him. They do not understand he is deaf. He is stubborn and doesn’t like being told what to do. He does have a late streak. Usually becoming involved in what he is doing, he loses track of the time, but to the chagrin of his acquaintances.

He is very protective of his friends and family. He loves to be outdoors and around animals. He is a little quirky, but his friends love him the more for it. He is very friendly and is a fierce protector of his friends. He likes to climb and is usually in a tree or in a lake when he wants to think. He also likes to swim. He has a dog that he has had since the pup was born. Coming from his parents farm dogs, he bonded well with the dog, named Dominic Juton. Dominic goes everywhere with Anansi, and is very friendly. Also, he has a puppy named Taygen Zamari.

Born the year of the 38th Hunger Games to a pair of ranchers, he was their first and only child. Loved and cherished by his parents, he was never punished by hitting or other physical punishments. Usually a stern look was all it took. Born deaf, Anansi never thought of his being deaf as a disability. Instead he thought of it as a fun little twist to life.

Having his parents be ranchers, he was with them all the time. If he wasn’t with them, he’d be with their dogs, riding horses around, playing with the sheep, going swimming, or climbing trees. He loved the animals, and would often sleep outside with the dogs or in the barn.

When he was 12, he got his first horse, Ashaka Valin. He broke the wild pony and was with it all the time. His horse is a palomino horse, a rare color for a horse, which was one of the reasons Anansi chose him. The horse is wild but a well-trained, obedient horse. Trained for voice commands, Anansi can tell Ashaka to stay, and he won’t go anywhere until released by Anansi.

Then when he was sixteen, he got his first dog. The dogs name was Dominic Juton, but the dog goes by Juton. He is a thick-boned dog with long, white fur. He is very big, weighing in at 115 pounds of pure muscle. At 31 inches, he is on the large side for the breed. With dark brown eyes, he looks very thoughtful and gentle. When herding, his favorite technique is to bark, which when he barks, it is a booming bark. He is a good guard dog and will go after animals and people who get to near, unless told to back off by Anansi. Anansi trained Juton very well and loves his dog to death.

Finally, he just got an 8-week-old puppy. The dog is a brindle, molloser type dog breed. He looks like a Fila Brasileiro. He is a smart pup, already knowing basic commands. He is an active hyper dog who usually hangs with Juton. Weighing in at 20 pounds and 15 inches, he is still growing. Named Taygen Zamari, he goes by Taygen. He has light brown, almost golden eyes that seem to pierce anything he looks at. Already he can get the animals to do what he wants by staring at them. Well, sort of. Anansi is going to teach him to use that to herd and also to nip at their heels. Taygen already shows promise as a good herding dog.

Anansi currently lives on a large 3,000 acre ranch on the outskirts of the district. On the farm there is cattle, pigs, goats, sheep, and a herd of horses, which they sell or butcher when they go to town. Along with his dogs, Juton and Taygen, there is Anansi’s parents, Dante and Gabriella Milagro, and their various dogs and mouser cats. All in all, Anansi Shaolin Milagro has a good life.
